It depends on the nature & circumstances one comes before court for. Let's take Martha Stewart. There were a number of transits during her whole ordeal
I will take the actual trial on Jan 27 2004 as when things came before court.
-Martha had Mars in 6th house of enmity. She had Mars return 25Ari on that day. A strong indicator of facing enemies. In her case it was the government.
-7th house is Tau and the ruler (Ven) is in Virgo. On that day, transiting Uranus in Pisces 1 and transiting Venus 14Pisces were both widely opposing her natal Venus 9Vir
I saw some clips of the time. She didn't look too good. She cane across as a rich lady who was involved in dodgy dealings.
-Saturn was in Cancer in retrograde motion in her 9th house. The judge/jury wasn't going to be particularly nice to her.
-Nep 12 Aqua opp her Sun Leo 10 (10th house ruler) her reputation was taking a beating as this was a scandal and eclipsed her career achievements.
On 5th March 2004 when she was convicted
-Trans Sun/Merc in Pis opp Ven (7th house).
The day favoured the prosecution(government is ruled by the Sun as it is an authority figure). The trans Sun opp her natal Venus.
She was fined by the court and ordered to pay to the government (8th house ruler is Merc and it was opp her natal ruler Venus).
-Transiting Mars in Taurus widely opposing her Asc. Mars doesn't do well in house 7. The native can come across to others as having an unlikable personality. And in house 7 related affairs, it's important to be likeable.
The tight square of Mars ON her Ic/Mc means that this was going to dent her career and/or home-life.
ALL of this happened within a period of 3 months. This just goes to show just how radical change can occur in one's life.
Pluto was opposing her natal Moon throughout this ordeal. And Moon is ruling the 9th house of ethics.
Trans retrograde Jupiter to conjunct her Venus. The saving grace here is that she didn't face a long sentence. Part of it was suspended. And I think that is partly owing to her image/reputation (as Venus in Virgo is in the 11th house of public influence and fans/followers)
From this example, one can tell that there are many transits involved in a court case situation.
But it seems to me that the 7th house angle is still the most important to look at. This whether by transits of planets directly in it. Or transits of outer planets (especially) to the ruler of it.
This would be the case when the incident is very serious and possible jail time would be an outcome.
With Martha it's interesting that Ven ruling her 7th and 12th house are linked . This because it was the affiliation with a certain contact (7th) that facilitated her eventually spending time in jail (12th).
