I’m learning and can’t quite understand how the house impacts the planet

An example - my partner has Venus in cancer in 12H and I have moon in Scorpio in the 4H (yes, our ASC conjunct if you’ve just done the maths).

So, even though my 4H sign is Scorpio does that mean that it has a cancer flavour to it?

Can someone please explain how the 4H placement affects my Scorpio moon?

Venus in Cancer would suggest someone who is drawn to a partner that is familiar to him somehow I.e. is reflective of someone in their past in some way physically or in personality. This for good or ill.

The condition of the Moon i.e. sign and aspects will shed more light on the nature of the attraction.

With Venus in 12th in Cancer, the native will be drawn to someone who will resemble the relationship he had with maternal figures in his life(this in particular Mom).

If say the Moon is in Cap,Mom may have been very formal as a parent. Not very sentimental. And this will be heavily reflected in the partner that they are drawn to.

The partner may be the type who travels overseas for business OR they meet overseas during a business trip? The partner could be someone who keeps their emotions to themselves and is a tough to break through? Etc.

Moon in Sco is a placement that is at its fall. What that means is that the native may have experienced past trauma and/or betrayal that has them approach life from a guarded
OR suspicious pov.

Moon is more open, passive and receptive. Sco (ruled by Mars)is by nature more prickly and defensive. And this is antithetical to what the Moon is (hence it being in its 'fall' here).

This individual can be fiercely loyal and protective of those few that do get over their high walls(family members or not). They would even die for them (and expect the same in return).

The condition and aspects of Mars Must be examined. If Mars is in Sco for instance, the native may tend to be very permissive (sexually).

Unless adverse aspects say otherwise, these natives tend to crave intimacy so much that sexual compatibility and love can be easily confused as one thing.

Moon being in the 4th house means that the home is the space that they are very private about I.e. you may not even know where they live, can visit by invitation only and will be a place where they host an exclusive few rather than having a crowd of people there.

Thanks Aries!

Great cancer moon insight! His is in Leo and is very well aspected with Mercury, Jupiter, Neptune and Pluto. No hard aspects. It’s in his first house and conjunct his ASC, also in Leo.

I’m a Leo ASC also (conjunct his ASC exactly) and my Venus in Leo is conj my ASC. He has said that I’m similar to his Mum - loving and non-judgmental (my Mercury is in Libra conj Saturn). His Mum is a Sag and my Virgo Sun is conj Jupiter (so perhaps a Sagittarius vibe..? )

I’m not private but I am protective of my family and home. And bang on the money with the trauma re trust.

Interesting how the Scorpio characteristics influence the 4H as opposed to the 4H taking on a Cancerian flavour. However both water signs so want depth and intimacy.

Interesting take on confusing love and attraction. I’d say, they are not necessarily confused but connected. Love needs to be expressed physically/intimately. But maybe that is because of my Venus placement..? I even prefer friendships where physical contact is made frequently otherwise I feel unfulfilled.

So my Mars is conj my Moon in Scorpio but why is this related to a sexually permissive person?

Sco Moon joins Mars energy with the Moon. So adrenaline (Mars) is linked with desire to merge (Moon).

Adrenaline can be pumped in various ways I.e. spiritual devotion, physically demanding action, intellectually consuming tasks etc.

Sco is permissive of things adrenaline pumping. This does not only mean sex. But sex can be the fastest avenue there. Hence I mentioned it.

But some Sco Moon folks who are averse to sex , may achieve adrenaline pumping intimacy with Universal forces(instead of people).

This they can do via spirituality, practicing magik or devotion to some other worldly belief etc.

Interesting…!

So you are basically talking about a very strong drive and how it manifests

My take is Scorpio is only interested in/focused on what it is most exciting however it can easily turn into an obsession. It can also be dropped quickly if it becomes boring. Anything around mystery, intrigue, deeper meaning or solving a puzzle are key to keeping interest. Variety is essential!
