Victoria, a state in Australia, is going backwards........ quote: Gay rights advocates have criticised slated changes to Victoria's equal opportunity laws that will continue to allow religious organisations to discriminate against gays and single parents.State Attorney-General Rob Hulls says a new Equal Opportunity Bill will be introduced into parliament next year. Under the changes, religious groups will no longer be able to discriminate on the grounds of race, disability, age, physical features, political belief or breastfeeding. But they can continue to discriminate on grounds including sexuality or marital status if it is in accordance with their beliefs.

Clinging to the past, and narrowminded dogma, is what holds the human race back from achieving our potential..... IP: Logged |

This is why I don't like religion. Another good reason to pass judgement in the name of God and for some to hold elitist self-righteous beliefs about being better than others. Good work. Pfff.IP: Logged |

One of the men in my class is a devout Christian who believes that people who are gay are under the influence of Satan. His words. So, I'm thinking that he's seeing things from a sexual perspective, rather from the point of loving and falling in love with someone regardless of their genitals.Single mothers and gays. One common denominator = sex (or sex outside of man-woman marriage). The problem is sex being seen as sinful. They can't even handle the idea of Mary having sex so they concocted the notion of immaculate conception. That's readily acceptable, and yet, so many other things are so unfathomable in Christianity. LOL. IP: Logged |

thats is a sin in itself to reject someone from the church because of who they sleep with. thats like rejecting god for those who are christian its like saying we reject god because god or whatever god entity there is is in you no matter what religon you are.this is disgusting people should stop going backwords in time and start moving forward. this is not rght. If you're not good enough for them, they're not good enough for you. One of my life's mottos. Pertinent at one point for one of my friends in relation to his church and his sexual orientation. There is too much misery caused in life by the struggle to be found acceptable by someone or something who will never accept you the way you are. There's things about me that could use a change but some fundamental things aren't changeable and I don't see why I should try, get stuffed. Again I am going to be agreeing with DepT. A re-read of the Bible might help a church that applies a social discrimination policy. IP: Logged |
