Message to all who knew fatinkerbel;
She took her own life this week  
This smart sweet lady is muchly missed by many folks. A link to one of her many threads to help folks remember her.
It was kind of an autobiography.

but comforted by all the outpouring of love from fb friends of herself and her daughter.

I am saddened to hear this. She was a very kind and interesting lady.
I always enjoyed her posts in GU and wondered why she wasn`t posting this election year.

I hadn't seen this thread....
Created this posting in a different forum.On November 5, 2016 10:08 p.m. ----- I just saw the thread in Sweet Peas, called 'Silence Rhymes with Violence.' I don't usually hang out in that forum, but it had caught my eye. I began reading it... The poster was born in S.Africa, and worked as an English teacher in Korea-- a writer, trying to publish her work. She posted several chapters of her book. I'm not leaving a link because the story was very explicit. She was a born again christian, sexually abused by her father. I went through the 15 pages of posts. It was mainly a conversation between Ami and herself. I felt like I started to know her. Saw her chart. The thread was an old one, which began late December 2010. Most of the postings were 2011. Every once in a while, old threads do get bumped. When I got to the last page.... Lexx was reporting the sad news that she had died this past week, by her own hand. fatinkerbel ..... aka "Christine"

Thanks, Mirage.. I didn't make it, just thought I'd share it. I think it's nice that her thoughts and her work are finally up there for the world to see. Maybe they'll inspire other survivors of rape and abuse. You can see the difference in her face, back when she was barely out of school and after she got heavily into drugs. It's just so sad. Such a bright, brilliant young girl, full of potential. IP: Logged |
