Used to be a rollerskate enthusiast in my 20s.This was always a favorite at the roller rinks. People would form single-chains, and 'stroke' their way around the rink, in perfect sync, like speedskaters!! Yah... Let's Go!!!! left arm bent behind your back All together now!!!! I remember reading somewhere some hotshot music producer wanted to sign her up, on the condition he could turn her into a manufactured pop tart. She said no. Years later when he heard of her illness, he called her to apologize to her for that and for not recognizing her true innate talent. She sings like an angel. IP: Logged |

Yes, and so many were touched by her artistry.Regarding the Fields of Barley song I left above, I also want to very much credit 'Sting' and thank him for creating such a sensitive and Beautiful song-- I remember when it first came out. Music, that touches the Heart. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fields_of_Gold POP-SONGS from the early 1600's I LOVED Sting's classical project when he took on interpretation of Old English works by medieval composer John Dowland (1600's music). (music) In Darkness Let Me Dwell (John Dowland, interpreted and performed by Sting, lute) [5:17] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBJkb5wrw-Q Sting did a whole album dedicated to John Dowland music. Explains the History of the times that was going on while Dowland composed his works, and 'why' his music sounded melancholy. In those days, music provided a 'catharsis' for the terrible things that were goin on in people's lives. (music) Songs from the Labyrinth ALBUM (Deutsche Grammophon trailer; Sting, with commentary) [4:58] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QkqXvLLDRo John Dowland (1563 – buried 20 February 1626) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Dowland IP: Logged |

StubbornVirgo, Awesome choices. I liked several Stones tunes too. This was a favorite http://youtu.be/KuRxXRuAz-I and there is one I can't locate the title to it .. unnerving because when I hear it, I've never gotten the title. With Fleetwood mac those are fantastic, have you ever heard Tusk? http://youtu.be/yroWuBIQQrY .. I found it! http://youtu.be/B-2MenrnR2U Fool to Cry .. so good imo Wow, the Stones .. they reminded me of my younger days .. http://youtu.be/MKLVmBOOqVU [waiting on a friend] although they, I as well am not young. Mick looks like my first bf's brother. So funny how these things kick into the memory. IP: Logged |

Released in the UK when Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's mission to "downsize" everything (and every male ego) was at its height ... Don't Give Up was a much needed reminder that British women are more like Kate Bush than the "iron lady, that was not for turning". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYiBx1eGLg0 IP: Logged |

Speaking of Kate Bush, I rather like the remake/cover of her song, "Running Up That Hill" by Meg Myers. http://youtu.be/N7iVWK2W48o If the above is too over stimulating, there is the behind the scenes version (good lord she's got some deeply magnetic energy--I guess indicated by all that Scorpio combined with being Libra Sun). http://youtu.be/mvTlo5pVZ9k IP: Logged |
