Slippery slope fallacies are not a fallacy. This is something I've come to recently believe after decades of watching the world.

Granted, this is recognizing patterns that repeat themselves over and over rather than proving it's going to happen the moment the ball starts rolling each and every time, and I do think many who initiate these slippery slopes have the best intentions who are as horrified as anyone else when it goes down the slope. More than one who got the ball rolling that snowballed after has said so.

And there are things I once supported that I now regret supporting seeing where they have gone in a surprisingly fast amount of time. Not just unintended side effects, but pushing it into horror, what many would call a bad movie that could never happen if it were fiction instead of real life where, unfortunately, it IS happening (and there's a long history of such hysteria and madness happening over and over again).

The most powerful loves are not always, or even usually, romantic. (Well at least for those of us who don't tune everyone out save for a romantic partner.)

I think it's possible to be happy without romantic love (and that if society didn't pressure us so much into it that this might not be such a radically unpopular opinion), but I do think other types of love (even if you have romantic love) are essential to happiness.

This is NOT to say men or women suck.

Nor is it to say that romantic love itself is bad (though I do think some romanticized and unrealistic notions that are relatively new to human society--a century or so, and still not global--sabotages those who can't adapt their expectations to something more realistic). It can be one of the most wonderful things.

But it is way overrated in this society, and that ironically makes satisfying romantic love all the harder and more likely to go wrong.

Sitting down in the shower is better than standing up in the shower. : I agree, I always sit down while taking a shower

The show Friends is painfully unfunny and is the most overrated thing ever. : depends for who. I'm a big fan of that show. the humor in this show is not only sarcasm

I have never understood the hype behind coffee. : neither do I

Tomatoes shouldn’t be considered a fruit. : agree

Vegetables are better than fruit. : totally agree

Bikes are more comfortable than cars for traveling. : go cycling 60 km with a bike, you'll tell me if the seat of the bike is comfortable

The smell of coffee is better than the taste of coffee. : true

Strawberries are disgusting. : they're good if sweet enough and not too much sour

Most people are the authors for their own suffering and misfortune. How? By being unable or unwilling to see the truth about themselves and those they have close dealings with. Why? Because the truth hurts.

If we can see ourselves clearly then we won’t play the blame game. Maybe we come into a situation that is against us from the start. If we can see that then we will either work hard to even the playing field or accept that situation for what it is.

People who think they've found lost relatives based solely on the results on some genetic ancestry tests probably haven't found the relatives they thought. I'll allow that it's possible under limited circumstances (especially in regards to paternity), but the companies involved sound shady/dodgy in more ways than one.

Well I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion; Most certainly wouldn't be amoung the normal population out there, and not Hollywood or Fan circles but:

The "Baby Girl" phenomenon as a term of endearment?! towards guys...

http://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/everyone-online-calling-hollywood-men-babygirl-rcna80075

Girls... I beg ya... Reserve this term for the Gay friend or the friend zoned creepy dude who hovers around you trying to get an "in." Do not call your male significant other a Baby Girl (unless its one of those teasing back-and-forth quips between ya, in which case, go forth and quip away you minx!)

Baby Girl sounds like an insult you throw at your opponent before you get into a ring with them for a match Lol!

I don't like the whole "I'm baby" thing. I don't call men "daddy" either.
