I really love the interactions we have here and I was wondering if there would ever be a LL discord?

on the LL user “profile” pages, there’s an option for “interests”, which could be used for adding social-media handles (if talking offline is your interest)

the old “ICQ Number” option doesn’t allow letters

.. I kinda like LL just the way it is. Since an open Forum is not the same as a live chat. More time/space for elaborated responses…

I wasn't familiar with the term, so I searched it. Trying to understand it.

The Forum format at LL already works to sort out chunks of sub-interests.

So... You'd be looking for ways to erect walls in front of each thread in order to block access to conversations unless the member is "approved" to ENTER the conversation?

You can have separate forums, and then voice forums, too. You can make private chats, but I don't think that would be a good thing for a forum discord, unless people did it between themselves. Or maybe if someone was hosting a class on something (like the tarot forum host/mod, years ago).

Found a few articles that helps explain what goes on. This was new to me.

If I'm not saying it right, please feel free to correct me.

So basically a person has to be there, online, at the time of a conversation, to be a participant. If person leaves, then comes back, there's the probability that that thread/convo has dispersed, and the information shared-within is permanently gone.

With a forum, you can participate in several threads. Log in Log out. Info gets saved and archived, and can be searched later on.
