Yes Juni, my strawberries got frozen...along with up to 30% of the Florida orange crop. Floridians have had their hands full of hair dryers trying to thaw the frozen strawberries, oranges and tourists. We've been busy and some have learned to "shoot" with both hands. The "Global Warming" attack on the US reached all the way down to Florida. So much water was pumped out of aquifiers to spray on strawberries and oranges to insulate against the "Global Warming" attack that the ground collapsed in some areas of Central Florida and created sink-holes. Thanks for your concerns but when "Global Warming" attacks everyone has to pitch in and man the hair dryers. lalalinda IP: Logged |

Well jwhop, my dueling dryers were busy defrosting me water pipes.... and ole Punxsutawney Phil says more winter is on the way. quote: The "Global Warming" attack on the US reached all the way down to Florida.
I say lets blame the Canucks for sending repeater Alberta Clippers so far south. I prefer an enemy with a face than a faceless entity called "global warming" or for shura`s sake, I`ll say global climate change ------------------ What we do for ourselves dies with us. "Canucks are having a very warm winter. Relatively speaking of course." well, of coure, duh they shipped their cold via Alberta Clippers south to push the cost of hair dryers up. ------------------ What we do for ourselves dies with us. well of course more winter is on the way. it's just the beginning of february! when i was a kid if he saw his shadow that meant there were ONLY 6 more weeks of winter, ie it was not going to be unusually long...is it a sign of the times that we now consider this a "sentence" to YET MORE winter instead of an assurance that the end is coming? and the relatively warm northern temps combined with the cooler southern weather smacks of pole shift stuff to me...the magnetic poles are wreaking havoc on what we are accustomed to. When the new Ice Age starts those glaciers on their inexorable march south through the Great Lakes region, you'll be glad you have that vacation home in Paradise cpn. Been there and done that juni....except I used a heat gun to thaw frozen water pipes. Then, I got inspired and wrapped all the outside faucets in thick layers of insulation...and the first 3 feet of inside pipes too. IP: Logged |

insulation, now there's a novel idea!! don't you insulate against the heat there? which would also cover you in cold weather? and save a fortune on air conditioning? or are you used to permanent balmy not hot weather?IP: Logged |

You can draw your own conclusions about insulation katatonic. I've never had a frozen water pipe at any of my Florida homes.IP: Logged |
