So funny. I love the Daily Show, and have said time and again it's probably the most unbiased 'news reporting'.
It's true that fox and msnbc are opinion-based, which is why I often go ahead and watch PBS...or else I just go online to read. Hearing so much vitriol when it comes to news just drives me crazy. People no longer seem to think that facts are important. They just ignore them and pummel away. It gives me high blood pressure to turn on the 'news' these days though...because it's no longer news, it's just diatribe after diatribe.

I've watched BOTH sides just slip into mud-slinging...it's pathetic. Rabble-rousing does not impress me.

It is no secret on this forum that I hold R-Senator Tom Coburn of OK =>

in general disregard. What is that old saying; even a broken clock is right twice a day? yeah that fits here:

quote:
GOP Sen. Tom Coburn scored a perfect 100 on the American Conservative Union's rankings for lawmakers last year. That makes him one of the last people you'd expect to criticize what liberals see as the GOP's most notable media mouthpiece, Fox News, but that's exactly what he did at a recent town-hall meeting in Oklahoma. When an audience member fretted about going to prison for not buying health insurance, Coburn responded, "The intention is not to put anyone in jail. That makes for good TV on Fox, but that isn't the intention." When discussing disagreements with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, he described her as a " nice lady" and warned the jeering crowd to be civil and to get their news from more than one source: "Don't catch yourself being biased by Fox News that somebody is no good."....
Coburn's calling out of Fox was notable precisely because it's rare for Fox and Republicans to find their messages out of sync. The image of Fox that one gets from liberal critics such as The Daily Show's Jon Stewart is that it parrots Republican talking points, pushes conservative ideas into the mainstream, and keeps the base animated. But some conservatives are asking whether the news channel has become too extreme and whether, by angering and agitating the base, it may be making it harder, rather than easier, for Republicans to win elections.

David Frum, a prominent conservative pundit and former speechwriter for George W. Bush, led the charge last month when he lambasted Republicans’ handling of health-care reform. In a piece about the health-care vote titled “Waterloo,” Frum wrote, "We followed the most radical voices in the party and the movement, and they led us to abject and irreversible defeat. There were leaders who knew better, who would have liked to deal. But they were trapped. Conservative talkers on Fox and talk radio had whipped the Republican voting base into such a frenzy that deal-making was rendered impossible…By mobilizing them with hysterical accusations and pseudo-information, overheated talk has made it impossible for representatives to represent and elected leaders to lead." On Nightline, Frum noted, "Republicans originally thought that Fox worked for us, and now we're discovering we work for Fox…The thing that sustains a strong Fox network is the thing that undermines a strong Republican Party."

A Fox News representative declined to comment for this story. Despite the criticism, Fox News is hardly suffering...

Which also leads me to the most watched according to Neilson April 5 Drum-roll..... Broadcast TV

  1. NCAA-Basketball championships
  2. Dancing with the stars
  3. American Idol Tues
  4. American Idol Wed

    Cable
  • Golf -Tiger was playin
  • Wrestling
  • Golf- Tiger was playin

No wonder FOX is #1 in Trust

Off topic- Coburn -native of Casper WY- and a Sun Pisces ..... why is it that every politician I look at has either a Pisces Sun or Moon lately??? Even The Dick Cheney has a Pisces Moon AND he was raised in Casper WY.... Jebus, me Mum is Pisces AND born in Casper~!! And the relatives that know "Dick" have nothing good to say he is not well liked in those parts.

commie, leftist, daffy duck, Newsweek article

AND...Fox New remains the most trusted News network.

More trusted than NBC
More trusted than ABC
More trusted than CBS
More trusted than CNN
More trusted than CNBC
More trusted than MSNBC

In fact, Fox News is trusted by 10 percentage points more than number 2 CNN.

Wow, I'll bet that kind of rebuke by the American people sets leftists ears ringing.

And the only reason Wrestling wasn't #1 [as it always is] was because of Tiger back on the Green

Yup, must be all those ears ringing from the roundhouse punch to the Cranial Cable Cavity.

I'm sorry, I didn't know the Socialist Wrestlers Association of America, SWAA, had their own News Network.

Nevertheless, they didn't make the cut as..."The Most Trusted News Network" in America.

and the average intelligence of fox's listener base is about a 95 IQ... what's your excuse jwhop?

all some people need is a station that tells them that being white, protestant and conservative is what america is all about, and they will stay tuned.

all in all we are still talking a very small proportion of the total here...

and since when are wrestlers politicians?

So you say katatonic, but what do you know? It wouldn't take much to exceed the mid double digit IQ of most leftists.

Fox News has a large component of tea party members in their audience.

Surveys indicate tea party members are better educated and above average in income than the average American.

of course it does. it tells them what they want to hear like i said. so they keep the dial there and listen to the news (or not) in between the pep talks. i know one person who listens to the fox station because george noory is on it. from there she started catching snippets during the day when she was in the car. like a catechism they repeat over and over what they want you to "get". the news is a small portion of their broadcast.

there are actually a couple of people on there who use their brains. they are not on your list tho.

Shock and dismay on the left
Kerem Oner

Suffolk University in Boston has come up with a new poll that indicates that Fox News Channel is by far the most trusted news source to no one's surprise- - well, that is no one but the Soros puppet progressives at outfits like Media Matters.

The poll shows that FNC is trusted by 28% of the public, followed by CNN at 18%, NBC at 10%, MSNBC at 7%, and the other two network news at 6% each.

This is no surprise to those of us who live their lives with their eyes and minds open. During the 2008 election season, at least two studies -- one by Pew Research Center and the other by CMPA -- showed clearly that Fox was the most balanced and unbiased source of election coverage.

I would agree with critics who might say that Fox leans to the conservative side but that is beyond the issue at hand. The ideological bend of the network is irrelevant as long as they report the news fairly. That, unfortunately, is not the case as far as other networks are concerned. Besides, I do not hear those progressive critics complaining about MSNBC or any other network who are clearly biased in their reporting. How biased? Enough to cover up for and help get a radical Chicago community organizer with enough skeletons in his closet to make any cemetery jealous elected President of the United States.

The reaction to the poll has been predictably knee-jerk from the left. Media Matters Executive V.P. Ari Rabin-Havt says "the public's trust in Fox is disturbing". He also says the poll reveals that "Fox News viewers trust the information that Fox gives them."

What a shock! A network who can be believed in? I mean what is going on here? We can't have that now, can we? It is downright disturbing, to borrow Mr. Havt's phraseology.

In a more serious and somber tone, this is the sad state of the American left today. It is indicative of their righteous indignation and elitist view of just who are the ones in the "know". The rest of us who believe in the individual over the collective are simply unwashed masses who need to be told what to think.

Very sad, indeed!

Poll: Fox, O'Reilly Most Trusted News Sources
By Paul Bedard
Posted: May 20, 2011

In a stunning rejection of network news and nightly news anchors, cable news, driven by the Fox News Channel and mouthy Bill O'Reilly, is now the top most trusted source—by a mile.

In a new poll from Boston's Suffolk University, more than a quarter of the nation says Fox is tops when it comes to who they trust the most and O'Reilly is the most believable.

"This poll shows two things: first, the network news have completely lost their brand. Second, the only network with any intensity is Fox News," says Brent Bozell, president of the conservative Media Research Center. "Bottom line: the more they attack Fox, the stronger it is getting," he adds.........

the first rule of advertising is that the more times someone sees your name in print/onscreen, the more familiar (and therefore SAFE/TRUSTWORTHY) you will FEEL to the audience.

FOX has used this rule to the umteenth power by flooding the market with their station and its anchors...and where they were not taken up, used its buying power to give away advertising space and airwave time to the locals until they took hold.

FOX does not wait for demand but puts itself out there where others cannot reach and when you only have one source or you have one source that shouts everyone else down, it starts to sound "normal" and "fair" after awhile. THIS is the first rule of propaganda.

i agree, the more people rale against it, the stronger it becomes. what you resist persists..and there is no such thing as bad publicity! so i have turned them off and will be patient while they run their course, as they def will! you can't fool all the people all the time!

Wipes tears from eyes.

Back to the Foxy story-- aye, bout time for that old saw.

“The true hypocrite is the one who ceases to
perceive his deception, the one who lies with
sincerity” - - Andre Gide: French writer, humanist and
moralist, 1947 nobel prize for literature, 1869-1951

````````````````````````````````
In October of 2004, Bill O'Reilly, right-wing conservative talk show host on Fox
News, was sued for sexual harassment by his producer, Andrea Mackris. On
many occasions she was phone sex raped by O’Reilly.
Even though Mackris protested, O’Reilly wouldn’t shut up. The schadenfreude
train doesn’t pull into the station until the news surfaced that Mackris recorded
everything. O’Reilly’s sexual predilections include the time he brought himself
to orgasm with a vibrator while talking to her on the phone.
O’Reilly settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed sum. Duuh.
For years many have noticed that O'Reilly acts like a child when challenged on
his show. His process runs the gambit between direct ridicule to switching off
his guest's microphone to manic outbursts. After reading the O'Reilly phone
sex transcripts it becomes apparent that Bill is emotionally around 14 years old
- - - explaining many of his hateful opinions.
just off the top @ the O'Reily post.
as per foxxy poll? 28% of people believe a lot of wacky stuff. Doesn't mean much, plenty of stupid people about.
Shouldn't an Anne Coulter post get bumped soon?
------------------
People like Sarah Palin haven't elevated the conservative movement.
Well, when you can't deny the statistical facts...the only thing left is to attempt to change the subject.
Fox News is wiping the floor with CNN, MSNBC and all the other leftist cable news networks and Bill O'Reilly is wiping the floor with all the so called news anchors...as the "most trusted".
Some people think O'Reilly is an arch "conservative". But, O'Reilly is a wishy-washy Libertarian.
When I've watched Fox commentators, I've noticed that whatever panel is present has members from the so called liberal...really Socialist progressive element. I can't say that about CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC or PBS. It's a constant diet of leftist guests.
