Just because Valus has strong opinions and is abrasive isn't reason enough to ban him, although he has hurled his fair share of insults...but it has also gone both ways. It takes a lot to get banned (unless it's something racially offensive), and what may appear to be a fast ban for someone often is something that has been building. Lotus has been unbanned several times, and she goes through phases where she makes threats that make her far worse than Valus. And for the record, no, I'm no fan of Valus. I don't particularly like the guy. I run this site as fairly to all as I possibly can, and if someone chooses to leave over one person, then that's the choice they make. ------------------ "I have found a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy; the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." -C.S. starkiss & Musette I totally understand, which is my point - parenting 101 - when the child throws the tantrum, do not give them the attention they're seeking. You know the old saying - you can lead a horse to water... EDIT: Spanky & Musette ROFL. IP: Logged |

My problem is that the fighting has brought a negative feeling to the whole site - and maybe it's just for me. I don't read Valus's threads because I know, same old, same old - they always errupt into the same dynamic - not for me, not interesting to me. You know what you're getting when you go in there - so why bother?I don't give a rats about the egos, I just want to see positive vibes around LL. One person cannot throw the balance, surely? Together we can bring back a balance of harmony. Enough fighting now. Really - just enough. Can we put our energies into better things, PLEASE? Randall, can we lock this thread now? IP: Logged |

Thanks PA Me too. And the answer is usually right there in my face. I know many of you think i'm just as bad as Valus is and in certain ways i am.

Yes exactly. And that's exactly why I wasnt frazzled by his many attempts to rock me. "down in Fraggle Rock!"

musette whoever said anything about voting you off? just trying to say, as pa has been, that throwing gasoline on a fire makes it worse. and drags out the drama for everyone even though the person you're talking about has left the room. pa probably said it better but that is exactly why i suggested it may be time to put this down...i am well familiar with the abuse/apology/abuse syndrome, and agree that over the top apologies are typical. i'm another one whose buttons are not so easy to push and at the same time hate to see the upset caused. but i really think the best solution is for those who KNOW they are going to likely be upset to steer clear. not of LL but of certain threads. and i suspect cpn was right about the banning. as well as tina turner deserving to be happy. which i think she is!! very happy! Musette, glad i'm not the only one who sees through the old BS and that just because one isnt accepting of every half-baked apology, doesnt mean they are not evolved enough to see what is actually going on. All the best, girl.IP: Logged |

"that throwing gasoline on a fire makes it worse"and people often get tastes of their own medicine. when youre antagonized by someone who doesnt know how or when to quit, sometimes you join in on their fun and become a - wait for it! - mirror, you know? play along. reflect n' sh!t. IP: Logged |

Randall,Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it, as do others I am sure. ~~~~~~~~ That being said, thank you to everyone else who took the time to respond to this matter. I normally DON'T go into his posts, because as many people have said, it's usually a crap fest. However, the cancer issue, well that is particularly painful for me, and I have had people email me to thank me for posting the information I did. However, that doesn't mean the other times he's posted on his Missions, don't pain others. I guess this should be a lesson to me. I hope any of this made sense to anyone. I'd rather keep the negativity in one string, so locking it would be counter-productive.------------------ "I have found a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy; the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." -C.S. Lewis IP: Logged |

I do my part to avoid the upsetting junk and so do others on here, so when upsetting junk shows up uninvited it isn't due to a lack of responsibility on my behalf. Randall, thanks for responding. ADfly, as someone who appreciated and needed your information, thank you and I'm sorry about the pain forced on you in that thread. T, thanks for your perception. quote: Can we put our energies into better things, PLEASE?

Well said Randall, you are a special webmaster. My calendar wisdom for the day: To determine on even the most insignificant matter only after fully reasoned deliberation. All unthinking behaviour, all meaningless actions, should be kept far away from the soul. One should always have well-weighed reasons for everything. And one should definitely abstain from doing anything for which there is no significant reason. Once one is convinced of the rightness of a decision, one must hold fast to it, with inner steadfastness. This may be called: ‘RIGHT JUDGMENT.’ having been formed independently of sympathies and antipathies. ~ Rudolf Steiner. IP: Logged |
