Hey Rogue, haven't you heard?I have absolutely no use whatsoever for Gurus. In general, I find "Gurus" to be duplicitous, self absorbed, self elevated, self serving bags of wind who couldn't find their own a$ses if their lives depended on it. Since you are the self styled "Guru" here, why don't you watch Zeitgeist" then mount your soapbox and tell us, point by point, why the themes expressed there are right and true?

Don't think so Rogue...or, would Guru be your preferred form of address? This is your big chance to lead us all along the path of righteousness by telling us why we should adopt the themes promoted in "Zeitgeist". IP: Logged |

I'm as much a guru as you, silly old man.
You, in your mind, split the world in two -- left, right. Does that mean reality is so? Many others make this same imaginary division. Does that mean reality is so?
Which is the greater truth: that a person is his so-called "political affiliation" (as you see it), or that a person is a human being, a Spirit having an Experience? Do you really think that verbally abusing others is going to help them somehow? Does it incline them to hear your message? How are you going to save the world (or even America)? You're a terrible promoter of your own cause. Think you're a more common-sense person than I? Check this out: you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. :P
As for Zeitgeist, I didn't start this thread to promote it or anything else (more on that later.) You know that very well but you turned *********** at the challenge after you watched the video, and hence tried dodge the issue by changing the subject to me and my roguey-rogueish guruism. Nice try, thanks for playing, but we are not fooled.
Anyway, if you bothered to open your mind (open-mindedness, definitely a Linda-possessed and Linda-advocated trait!) long enough to absorb the material in Zeitgeist: Addendum, you'd know that very prominently, at the film's culmination, is shown Krishnamurti saying, "in this there is no teacher, no pupil, there?s no leader, there?s no guru, there?s no master, no savior."
Now what??
(As an aside, I find it highly ironic that at a site named after a woman whose third chapter of her third book is entitled "Gurus, Ghosts, and Avatars" [emphasis mine] I am being slandered for using the word in my... Internet nickname. Go figure.)IP: Logged |

"Anybody want to see someone break his typing fingers trying to circumvent logic and the English language"...rogue"Hey, jwhop, I got a challenge for ya"..rogue Hey little rogue, don't whine. When you start out confrontational, then you get what you get. btw, have you lost your soapbox? This seemed the perfect opportunity to fulfill your purpose, elevate yourself, exercise your Guru-ship and lead us all away from the path of unrighteousness. I'm shocked that after watching Zeitgeist you can't explain any of the precepts contained within. "in this there is no teacher, no pupil, there?s no leader, there?s no guru, there?s no master, no savior." Then, you show up here calling yourself "Rogue Guru". Just as a matter of curiosity....why would you want me to watch a video promoting precepts you don't bother to follow yourself? And, btw, I didn't watch it.

That's twice now you've chosen to react like a juvenile rather than hold an intelligent conversation. You're a disappointment. 3rd Grade pottymouth does not become you (or anyone, for that matter.) I really thought you could do better. You used to at least be a worthy opponent. Getting tired, old man? Can only stand up to the weak ones now, eh? The easy targets? You're a lion; where's your pride? What are you proud of, hurling lame insults? You got a pair of frontal lobes around somewhere? Know how to use 'em? The real reason you don't want to watch the damned thing is because your ego is so tightly bound up in your little badges -- Republican, right-wing, conservative, old-fashioned, morally upright, favored member of linda-goodman.com, astrologically knowledgeable, politically knowledgeable, American, father, grandfather, working-class (or white-collar, I don't know or really care)... etc. etc. etc. -- that you absolutely cannot accept any new information that might require you to reevaluate your view of the world or your precious identity. Put simply, you're a philosophic coward.IP: Logged |

You have been given multiple opportunities to exercise your..self proclaimed...Guru-ship Rogue. Now, if you can find a single topic on which you are competent to debate...GO For It. Otherwise, turn in your toga and staff to the props department and change your screen name. "I'm as much a guru as you...Rogue" The idea that I'm comparing myself to you Rogue or that I think of myself as a "Guru" is hysterically funny! Your perception is fatally flawed. IP: Logged |

"conservative, old-fashioned, morally upright, astrologically knowledgeable, politically knowledgeable, American, father, grandfather, working-class (or white-collar, I don't know"...Rogue I find it incredible anyone would argue against moral uprightness, political knowledge, astrological knowledge, Americans, fathers, grandfathers and working people...blue collar or white collar. You sound like you could use some Gatorade Rogue. IP: Logged | |
