He is a Republican business man like his father, George, who was governor of MI for 4 yrs. His Mormon Faith was a contention among the old guard. Mitt did win the Mi primary but don`t think he`ll be elected in his next run ------------------ ~The Earth Laughs In Flowers~ ... Emerson IP: Logged |

Well,Juni I can answer that quite easily. He understands business. This is one of the main requirements for a leader at THIS time in history,I think We do not have the luxury of pretty words and high falutin' attitudes. We need simple business principles if we are to survive. He is a self made man.I think he has good values. Good values take you a long way. I think these two things are enough to help turn us around as a country if it is possible. I fear it is not cuz government has gotten so big and so corrupt. I wonder if the President is ,only, a Figurehead. I wonder if HE is told to only go so far or HE will be in danger. These are very strange times in which we live. The government was not meant to have gotten THIS big and this far away from the people . ------------------ If you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will forgive you But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Romney would not do any "Big" government thing,I am quite sure. He did some health plan in Mass but it worked very well. I do not follow specifics, any more.It is too depressing ------------------ If you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will forgive you But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. well i fail to see the difference between the massachussetts plan and the federal one, except that one is at state level and the other for all of us. it's still government - there are varying reports on whether it works well in mass. or not but it is basically the same plan. perhaps hypocrisy is not important when it's practiced by a handsome republican?personally i have lived in several states where the state goons and regulations were much more draconian than the feds. at present we have several governors who think the title = king. yet people clamour about obama, who can't make many moves without approval from several others, being "dictatorial". go figure. could it be bias speaking? Candidly, Romney looks worse than he did some months ago. In MI, in particular, remarks on his wifes cadillacs , buddies with NASCAR moguls and mostly his anti-bailout stance for Detroit auto & factory workers. He`s certainly not seen as a friend to the middle/lower class. But, does this mean 4 more years of Obama? ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

yes, and it has been not only very successful, but popular. There has been the question of whether Romney can ever stand behind anything he says. He flip flops more than this_-> 1) On Immigration - For A Path To Citizenship, Then Against 2) On George W. Bush's Tax-Cuts 3.) Anti-Reagan then, now Pro-Reagan. 4) On The National Rifle Association And Gun Laws 5) On Whether He Even Owns A Gun (This story changed within just a few days) yadayadyada If this was a thoroughbred race at Pimlico, I wouldn't bet on Romney. Even for a politician, the list is endless. IP: Logged |

Well, this was interesting. My Aunt who is a thinking woman( unlike many who will go unnamed) said that she would never vote for Santorum but would vote for Romney. She hated Santorum who is my favorite. People really get him wrong in that he does NOT want to get into your bedroom. Just stay out of his and give him the same consideration but that is a whole other story. At any rate, that showed me that Romney could beat Obama more than Santorum because my Aunt is a true Moderate. Last time around she voted for McCain but she is a thinking person from Mass not a knee jerk liberal *cough* Excuse me ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. "isn't Romney responsible for the blueprint for the health care reform act?""yes, and it has been not only very successful, but popular."....Node This is utter bullshiiit Node. Insurance policy premiums in Massachusetts are higher than any other state in the US. So, are residents of Massachusetts MORE SICKLY than residents of other states? Further, wait times to see a physician in Massachusetts are longer under RomneyCare and many general practitioners and medical specialists are not taking any new patients. Which means...you may be insured but what the hell good does that do you if you can't get treatment or even an appointment to see a doctor. I don't call that "SUCCESSFUL".

i repeat, the reports on the massachussets program are variable. i have heard everything from great satisfaction to none at all. so i guess like most systems it has its failures and its successes and it largely depends on who you talk to. IP: Logged |

As a Massachusetts resident since birth, I can attest to what both Node and Kat are saying. I don't like Romney personally, but my state is filled with insured individuals thanks to RomneyCare. Obama 2012! IP: Logged |

I am so disgusted by Conservatives and Republicans who care more about their own political and financial agendas and self interests, and feeding their greedy bellies, instead of the welfare of Americans and humanity, I'm going to vote to keep Obama in that oval office for another 4 years.
