Legislatures in this country still recognize religious freedom...even as it relates to personal health choices. That's why there's no national vaccine law, and that's why states have religious exemptions for vaccines. The healthcare legislation has a religious exemption as well. It was written into it for the Amish and Christian Scientists, but the government can't ask us specifically about our religious beliefs or question them, although the Amish do have regular churches throughout the country (complete with electricity) should anyone want to attend services. I'm not saying to convert to one of these religions, but it is not too far of a stretch to be opposed to forced healthcare based upon religious beliefs...just like I object to vaccinations based on those grounds. The government can't question your beliefs, and a religious objection is enough to beat this oppressive legislation, but I do foresee many new churches forming.IP: Logged |

An interesting idea!I hope adopting a religious stance won't become necessary to thwart O'BomberCare. I have high hopes the Supreme Court will strike the individual mandate down as unconstitutional and a new Republican majority in the House and Senate...along with a Republican President will repeal every single line of O'BomberCare and start over with real health care reform. It's good to have a back-up...just in case. I am very much opposed to the government forcing any health decisions upon me (and my children when I have them). I am very capable of making those decisions for myself and my family-to-be without any interference from jack-booted thugs. That conscientous objection is part of my belief system, and thus, is religious in nature. ------------------ I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be. Well, true reform begins with a line-by-line repeal of that socialistic nightmare called Obamacare.------------------ I have CDO. It's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, as they should be. IP: Logged |
