anonymous have announced they will be bringing down facebook on guy fawkes day! in a short clip on youtube they explain that the cia is allowed by facebook to track everyone, and even deleting your account just keeps it in cyber-limbo. "this may upset you, having something you love so much destroyed, but in the future you will see it was a good thing.." as if a) the damage is not already done if it exists at all b) we need saving from ourselves. the robin hood thing is very attractive, but the response that pops into my head is who asked them to correct the world? Truth be told, I dislike facebook, myspace, etc.My mom spends hours in everyones business.. WHY? Does everyone we know, have to know everything we are doing? My answer is no.. it's for people who don't have a life, and want to occupy their time with everything everyone else is doing.. WHY? scratches head, why, would we want to know everything you are doing? O my, gosh, gotta run to the grocery store, we're outta milk, be back...... what the fudge!? Fudge sounds good right now! ------------------ All my love, with all my Heart lotusheartone IP: Logged |

I swear, I don't know how people can use all their time living their lives tuned into what people they don't even know are doing.Additionally, there are way too many problems associated with the various social media sites who send out emails to people on subscribers email lists which appear to be from your friends...but they don't know anything about it. Good question that.Social networking has proved to be an invaluable tool in nations seeking release from the bonds of suppression. Those seeking change. On the other hand I agree w/ ^^ EO above. I do not understand the FB fascination, nor those who use the internet as a public journal documenting their lives. ... I do not understand a mag like People. Or those that actually have it delivered to their homes. Different strokes aye. as to the question__ anonymous has created awareness. But the power will very likely be misused. Take down FB? Is FB that evil? I know it holds far too much of a narcotic, but why the "anonymous: focus>? IP: Logged |

the post is not about facebook! lol, they are also planning on shutting down the NYSE, though they claim this is the action of a small number of their group not approved by the majority.they claim to be acting on behalf of all "the people". yet they do not ask or care what the people want. they could be cyber-jihadists for all we know, yet a lot of people think that because they are against the "establishment" they MUST be cool. they are starting to look like nothing but puffed up thugs. as to FB, it is nice to be able to find people who were long gone from one's life, it is a place for sharing info; not much different from any social gathering really, has it's good and bad sides, its sheep and its thinkers...but it is VOLUNTARY and if it ended tomorrow i doubt any harm would be done. the point is the lofty attitude of a bunch of "ghosts" trying to bring down life as we know it - and how little they care what the rest of us think.
