I thought Santorum won the debate last night. He's come a long way with no money and little advertising. Sometimes it's necessary to hang in there until the tide...and money starts running in your direction. Santorum hasn't backed up or backed off an inch through all the debates. He knows what he believes and why he believes it. IP: Logged |

I wasn`t aware of his daughters illness. Bless the Santorum family . WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum canceled his Sunday morning campaign events and planned to spend time with his hospitalized daughter. "Rick and his wife Karen are admitting their daughter Bella to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia this evening," spokesman Hogan Gidley said in a statement Saturday night, adding "Rick intends to return to Florida and resume the campaign schedule as soon as is possible." http://news.yahoo.com/santorum-cancels-morning-events-child-032752296.html ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

Keep it comming Rick; it`s always the wife that did it Santorum Blames Wife for Anti-Working Woman Book Passage: Rick Santorum says women shouldn't serve in combat, but he's happy to have his wife jump on a grenade for him. When ABC's George Stephanopoulos asked the presidential candidate about a passage of his 2005 book -- "The radical feminists succeeded in undermining the traditional family and convincing women that professional accomplishments are the key to happiness" -- Santorum claimed his wife wrote the passage. But as The New York Times' Brian Knowlton points out, Karen Santorum's name isn't on the cover of the It Takes a Family, and she's not listed in his acknowledgments of people "who assisted me in the writing of this book." http://news.yahoo.com/santorum-blames-wife-anti-working-woman-book-passage-144227076.html ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

and apparently because the constitution does not explicitly bestow the right to privacy upon us, santorum believes it can be broached legally. http://the-american-catholic.com/2012/02/20/there-is-no-right-to-privacy-in-the-constitution/ IP: Logged |

I believe these statements ( Santorum`s "religous" beliefs) are going to bite him right on the butt. quote: In the speech at the conservative Catholic Ave Maria University in Florida, Santorum praised the Catholic Bishop Samuel Aquila for pledging to deny communion to politicians who support abortion rights and said the matter went beyond politics and was a symptom of Satan's reach in U.S. society.
He`s confusing satan/evil and what Reagan stated. Santorum again seemed to mention the issue when he said to the crowd that his campaign "has been about very simple things" and America is a country "that when someone is in trouble, and forces of evil are moving, America would stand up and call evil by its name." "Ronald Reagan did that. He called the Soviet Union an evil empire and the media went wild. How dare you describe terms like good and evil to regimes? Because Ronald Reagan told the truth, he didn't sugarcoat it," Santorum said Reagan did not call "evil" behavior/regimes satan Rick. ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

and now apparently it is a sin to be smarter than your average bear, and to do something with those smarts. who is NOT a sinner and since when is it the president's job (or candidates) to intervene in someone's relationship with god OR the devil?[of COURSE, the good two shoes santorum was not dragged down by the devil in all HIS years in school, college and law school...] IP: Logged |

"who is NOT a sinner and since when is it the president's job (or candidates) to intervene in someone's relationship with god OR the devil?"...katatonicWhat an odd statement for someone to make who supports O'Bomber's attempt to intervene between Catholics and their God and compel the Catholic Church to pay for birth control, sterilization and abortion pills which are strictly forbidden by their religion. That issue if far from over katatonic.Retaining those so called benefits in policies issued to Catholic institutions...with someone else paying for those services which violate the religious beliefs of Catholics does not in any way "solve" the problem O'Bomber created for himself and demoscats. In case you don't know this, Catholics make up about 25% of actual voters. Last time around, Catholics gave O'Bomber the benefit of the doubt and voted for him. What do you think is going to happen in the election in November to the guy who attempted to make war on their religion? You...and O'Bomber...and demoscats who voted for O'BomberCare with provisions which violated tenets of the Catholic religion only wish this issue was over. Oh, and it's not only Catholics who are pi$$ed about this. Voters of other religious faiths understand well that if O'Bomber was willing to make war on the Catholic religion then he wouldn't hesitate to make war against their religion either...just as soon as he could get around to doing it. O'Bomber is the most anti-religion president in American history and that fact escapes no one. IP: Logged |

Perhaps you should practice a gentle nose pinching in prep for the real thing or hope for a brokered convention (as jwhop mentioned once) There`s a long road ahead so lets fasten our seat belts...
quote: Two opinion pieces on Friday in The Wall Street Journal - whose editorial page is typically a barometer of the thinking of the Republican Party establishment - blasted Santorum 's brand of conservatism One article said the former Pennsylvania senator's focus on religion and social issues could make it more difficult for the eventual Republican nominee to appeal to independent voters, the keys to victory in the November 6 election. Another article said Santorum has "potentially fatal general-election liability issues," and that his social policies - which, among other things, seek to end abortion and increase childbirth - would increase the role of government in Americans' lives. One of the key tenets of the Republican platform is to reduce government's influence on citizens.

LMFAO most catholics practice birth control of some sort. some even have abortions rather than let the catholic doctor sacrifice the mother for the not-yet-baptized (appropriated) child. obama may have lost the vote of the pedophile professional catholics, but the rank and file are not going to gripe that they can now get contraception (which is also MEDICINE for other conditions than pregnancy) on their insurance! they are going to celebrate, maybe in private, that their church has been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century! perhaps in madeira beach the addition of several billion people on the planet has not made its mark yet(4 billion since you were a child, jwhop). most of us have noticed the shrinking space we can call ours and many of us respond to this by deliberately having fewer children. the rhythm method has been proven extremely fallible. many "female conditions" are alleviated by "birth control" medication. many children have benefitted from their parents' planning not to have so many kids they can't afford to raise them. of course there is always the santorum method of birth control. if the wife is pregnant 9 months of the year, sex is free of the consequence of making even MORE babies. Looks like the Republicans think Santorum is a little "smelly".Santorum win in Michigan could be chaos for Republicans Republicans worry about the general election viability of Santorum, a staunch conservative who has courted controversy with a burst of comments on social issues like birth control, pre-natal testing and women in the military. Santorum's rise and Romney's weakness have sparked speculation about more contenders jumping into a Republican race that could last all the way to a brokered convention in August. The Michigan result could shift that speculation into overdrive. "A Santorum win in Michigan takes all of the talk about a new candidate or a brokered convention and puts it on steroids," Republican strategist Todd Harris said. If Romney pulls out a victory in Michigan and in Arizona, where he has a more comfortable lead in polls, he would regain command of the frequently shifting race but could still face a long nominating battle that could extend into June. http://news.yahoo.com/santorum-win-michigan-could-chaos-republicans-200209608.html ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |
