and now a fox commentator and psychiatrist is painting working moms as self-haters...all because one working mom pointed out the truth, that ann romney has never had to work in her life and might not understand the struggle other women have trying to meet ends...

for which ms rosen apologized...her point was that ann was maybe not the best person for mitt to ask about women's concerns about the economy or other survival issues.

but there is no war on women. just women who work, for whatever reason; women who use contraception; and women who have babies whose fathers don't stick around...

The tag war on is good for airplay.

War on drugs
war on poverty
war on women

While I understand the usefulness in certain instances for a good sound-bite I also would not like for *it* to be marginalized, IE. disregarded and sluffed off by talking heads and policy makers. There are much deeper issues involved here, a broader scope is necessary. If it takes a media tag like war on to increase awareness to the broader issues then so be it. Some policy makers [like my boyo mcconnell] would like to keep this under wraps with as little exposure as possible. That is what people like Walker of WIS, [who disapproves of equal pay for women] and gov mcdonell of VA hope for.

quote:
The Virginia legislature has passed a bill that will force women seeking an abortion to undergo a medically unnecessary transvaginal ultrasound. The mandated procedure requires that a probe be inserted into the woman's vagina and manipulated around so as to produce a high-resolution picture of the uterus and surrounding organs -- once again, for no medically sound reason. Governor Bob McDonnell has said that he will sign the bill. As part of the same package, the legislature also enacted a "personhood" law that would define life to begin at the stage of a fertilized egg, even before implantation, and hence would outlaw many forms of contraception and all abortions.

The Republican Party of Virginia showed no apparent irony in enacting this vaginal invasion bill on Valentine's Day

So much for "shrinking" government. We are returning to the early days of the 19th Century: where sex is dirty, women are not allowed sexual freedom, and if they do they are slu*tZ. Viagra and Cialis are allowed on insurance programs but not contraception??

If the dems were as savvy about branding as the repubs the Buffet rule would be called the Reagan rule.

hahahaha now that is a stupid thing to say.

Especially given the mass exodus of women from the Republican party. Those numbnut politicians on the right can't take a hint!

oops!
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/05/07/fox-news-contributor-laments-mistake-of -letting-women-vote/

“And this probably was the reason they didn’t allow women to vote when men were men. Because men in the good old days understood the nature of the woman,” he adds. “They were not afraid to deal with it. And they understood that, you let them take over, this is what would happen.”

do you think they can manage to get the women's vote repealed before november?? maybe then "men can be men again", eh?
