Well, I feel I can talk to you, openly. Have you had a problem with what is called sub text? This is figuring out what is going on "below the surface"?

Honestly, I may have a problem with it because my mother was this way. I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable on the open Board. She was a science type, too. She was on her way to medical school but then got TB. She was very literal about things in the way you are. I think it just touches painful places in me.

At least with you yes. You write in very short and often vauge replies that can impart quite a few different possible meanings. So much so that it's very difficult for most any one to figure out exactly what you mean because you very often don't explicitly state it here. Others replies to you further highlights this. I get the sense that this is very much done on purpose. Further a lot of the replies simply strike me as a way to either divert or derail the conversation.

At this point and time I am doubtful you're going to be able to make me uncomfortable on the board so do not worry about it what so ever. It's all good.

I can understand that. I also have a few personalities that can and do get on my nerves as well. I apologize if my way of functioning is of an irritation to you. I know not everyone is completely compatible with "science types" as you put it.

You still did not answer my question though. For what reasons have you come to the conclusion that you do not believe me to be open to others points of view? I have said in the past that there is always something to be said of the opinions of others regardless of if it is right or wrong. As such, your view on the matter has the potential for be insightful for who I present myself as. Further will possibly aid in my never-ending goal of self improvement. Additionally, as I said what you say is not going to offend me in any way possible. I don't believe it's possible for you to hurt me.

However, if for some reason you do not wish to answer, I will accept that, nor will I force you. Just tell me if that is the case.

Frankly Juni, I've come to the conclusion that the only way for me to have peace of mind when having discussions on the ever-heated GU is to avoid those I don't get along with, including avoiding posting on their threads. If only they'd do the same for me. But you can't have everything.

You do have a cool way that one can talk to you and be honest!

Yes NJ, one can avoid any discussion or posts. But by doing so, we do not experience our reactions or interactions , see their limitations and grow beyond them.

Also, clearly it depends on our intentions on posting on a public board. Do we post to flex our intellectual muscle/ ego, to share what we have learned, to glean information on how others believe (that would clear communication up IF all did that, yes?),to strengthen our knee jerk reactions to what offends us, or just be a chatty cathy.

Knowing our intentions clears up trivial debris that gets in our way and provides a clear path to your message. It also makes anothers intention clear and it quickly loses the knee jerk response.

I have really been challenged on public boards as I am an Aqua sun, Merc in Aqua and Saturn in Libra... so know this is not a lecture but from one who has been around lifes block a few times.

I guess we're all different. I've been around the block many times as well. I've experienced a great deal and I use my wisdom to guide my choices. Its very hard to learn from someone who behaves hostile towards you. I'm a peaceful individual who understands very well that you don't have to put up with anything you don't want. And if you have to, it's better to just walk away instead of fueling the disagreement and spreading the misery. You can't reason with those who at irrationally. You can only lead by example. Maybe they'll pay attention maybe they won't. I will not put up with abusive verbal behavior just to settle conflict. I know adversity, I have Mars at home in Aries in the 1st house. The universe throws anchors at me from every corner on many occasions. I know adversity and I can handle adversity.

I have my Sun/Mercury in Libra and dominant 7th and 8th house energies. My life is putting myself in other people's shoes. I sacrifice myself in those situations and like everyone else I grow a bit more each day. After careful consideration I've realized in specific situations all I can do when dealing with certain kinds of people, is kindly walk away. The world is much bigger then petty disputes. We're all different and that's just life.

Lecture away but you and I are different people Juni. I've experienced a very different world then yours. And thats fine. I am mindful of all these differences on GU and have done my best to disengage from pointless conflict after having assessed the situation. But that's just me. I know who I am and I make well thought out decisions. Nothing that comes out of my mouth hasn't been thought through thoroughly. I've got Mercury in the 8th, incisive thinker is an understatement.

Fair enough. But when I see question marks I generally think they are attached to a question.

Well that doesn't necessarily mean you have to answer it. This is a public forum and I created this thread to have civil discourse. If you see a question and you'd like to give your input by all means. If not that's fine as well. No ones making you do anything you don't want to. I don't see an issue here but if you do please share it with the crowd.

As someone living in a socialist country, I understand socialism. What exactly is the problem? Is it the part about the poor being able to use hospitals despite being poor, or the lack of guns not being able to kill very many people you don't like?

Joan - I know we have many of the same stances so I'm sure you'll appreciate my brand of political humour

Don't you just love it when conservatives whine about the media's "liberal bias?" It cracks me up every single time! They just don't get the mechanics of how and why this occurs.

The media has a liberal bias because in order to become a journalist, one must obtain a degree. People who have obtained degrees are overwhelmingly liberal. Hence, "the media's liberal bias." ROF

@Aquacheeka

LMAO. To add to that, being Liberally bent usually entails using your noggin. You know putting thoughts together, basic THINKING. A prerequisite to journalism AND basic human cognitive ability.

In a hypothetical situation:
A Progressive individual (Liberal) might say: "Lets consider all the options, do research, and synthesize various concepts and come up with pragmatic ideas so we can make informed decisions about human welfare and the globe."

A Regressive individual(Conservative) might respond: "Me hungry. More money (gobble gobble). You stupid."

And there we have it folks!

you could also say "Hence the conservatives' lack of respect for education"...though i tend to agree that the emphasis on EVERYBODY going to college has worn thin...and the reasoning that "college=better jobs/pay" does not really compute either, though college does expose you to more thinking people and possibly a BETTER LIFE, it doesn't necessarily follow.

So how many Aquarians does it take to change a lightbulb?

Lol Node. Who doesn't love a cheeky Aquarius? If it weren't for their amazingness this world would be oh so boring.
