don't know why I bother with these types of threads/people. I'm deleting so I don't have to respond if someone responds to me.

"obviously a general strike would create havoc, but the danger of one happening is minimal right now. however calling for one is a first step, right?" Kat, if a strike would cause havoc, how could calling for one be a first step? Are you saying a positive step? Anarchists will never succeed. CEOs get paid more, because they take on more responsibility. Why should a CEO be paid the same as a clerical worker...or why should a burger flipper be paid the same as a CEO? Insanity.

There are so many jobs behind the scenes that few people realize exist and that no one would be "meant to do," but these are necessary for a modern society. Some pay very well...some not so well...but trotting through the woods naked hugging trees will not garner one a CEO's salary no matter how in tune to one's purpose it makes one feel.

Youre not getting it guys. I'm not talking about CEO salaries as opposed to others. Or tree hugging for a living....

Come on now. You are smarter than that.

A world where everyone is the same would have no need for competition...and competition creates everything...from the computer you are using to the iPhone to the plates you eat your food on. And if this is the way the OWSers think, then it is no wonder they are not respected by the masses; nor should they be. They can't even live by their own demands...with their electronic conveniences galore. lmfao

So in your opinion, 380 times as much as a mid-level worker is appropriate? They work THAT MUCH harder? Even though that is exponentially more than they were making when America had a middle class?

Conservatives are insane.

Actually, a majority of Canadians supported our Occupy protesters: http://www.ctv.ca/CTVNews/TopStories/20111108/occupy-wall-st-nanos-poll-111108/

Anything else you'd like to say today that is presumptuous, nonsensical or just plain wrong?

A CEO gets paid whatever the Board of Directors (BOD) vote that CEO to be paid...and ultimately the BOD answer to the shareholders, who are the real owners of the corporation. If a company is making billions, the CEO's salary is clearly thought appropriate by those who matter--the ones who own and run it.

No, they don't work that much harder...they shoulder hundreds of times more responsibility. A manager of ten employees is responsible for what those ten employees do. And so on. Do the math.

Randall.
The people who argue utopia probably have never had a business. That will cure them of immature views, more than anything.

Let one of these liberals try to have a business and all that entails and see if they are STILL a liberal. I doubt it. Talk from people who have not been out in life, is cheap. I used to have the same kind of big mouth when I was younger.

These people should try to have a business in this Obama economy. They would jettison Obama imho

* why do I even bother with people who clearly have no clue and who have probably never had to work hard for anything in their life.

Ami,

Speaking of "big mouths"......Do me a favor. How about next time you want to start drama and say something to me, you do it to my "face" on the boards. And don't do it through another person - a friend of mine?

Hmm? Do not email my friends to give a message to me again. Say it on the boards and I will answer you here.

I'm not out to get you Ami. I actually don't give much thought to you. But please don't make some kind of soap opera sh*t out of LindaLand.

Never in my life have I had to deal with something like that up until now. And I just want to tell you that I don't eff around that way. If you want to tell me something, say it here and now. This isnt high school and I don't waste my time like that.

Don't bother my friends or try to start drama where there isnt any.
