Why don't plane windows open, asks Mitt Romney: Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney lamented the fact that airplane windows don't roll down after wife Ann's plane had to make an emergency landing due to an electrical malfunction.

Discussing the incident at a fundraiser the next day, he said, "When you have a fire in an aircraft, there's no place to go, exactly, and you can't find any oxygen from outside the aircraft to get in the aircraft, because the windows don't open. I don't know why they don't do that. It's a real problem. So it's very dangerous".
>>

One Answer: If plane windows could open, Al-Qaeda type terrorists would not need even their box cutters to commit a terror attack. They would just need to open a couple of windows at any point above 15000 feet and wreck havoc from the ensuing confusion.

Mittens as Commander in Chief of the US Army?
Having control of US Nukes, Warships and Fighter Jets? This great Mind handling American Security?

3-5 more percentage point gains for "O Bomber"....

I hear you, IQ, on dumb comments. However, talking about all politicians, now, who can not say dumb things?

I was thinking about that, the other day. They are under scrutiny 24/7. Then, we tell them they are too stiff. People make off the cuff remarks, as Mitt did. Everyone says dumb things. His wife was just in an emergency situation, too.

As much as i can't stand O'Bomber, I feel badly for him, at times, for the same reason.

I feel glad a man of Mitt's caliber would even run for the presidency, with all he has to be subjected to, by the pro O'Bomber media.

We should kiss the ground Mitt walks on for putting up with this stuff imho.

Hi Ami,
Spot on about all politicians but the reason I am frustrated with Mitt is that [off the cuf gaffes aside] he is smart enough to know that he did not deserve this chance. This Presidency was to have been for Ron Paul.
As Freidman said, Mitt is just renting the GOP for his very very selfish agenda [of retiring as a multi-billionaire perhaps?]

Pardon my sacrilege but if God wanted to send a 11th Commandment now, it would have been "Thou [America] Shalt Elect Ron Paul President in 2012".

I am not a fan of Obama [Though I am a fan of the Democratic Party], he made a 1001 promises and wasted the entire 2009 when the Democrats had enough legislative advantages to pass all the laws they needed to change things. But Mitt is yet to show any evidence that he can unseat Obama.

Every gaffe will be made out to be a 1 or 3 or 5 points gain for Obama.

ron Paul is an authentic human being. I like many things about hm but he does not value Israel. Aside from how I love Israel, as you all know. Israel is the only country in the Middle East which is a democracy and can be counted on, as such. The US needs Israel, as much as Israel needs the US. Ron Paul puts Israel as equal to the other countries and she is not, in just a practical way, whether you like her or not.

Anyway, don't want to go there, other than to say that is my main objection with Ron Paul.

Mitt's gaffe yesterday was interrupting people chanting, "Ryan, Ryan, Ryan,"and and trying to correct them to, "Romney-Ryan, Romney-Ryan." The chanting stopped. Awkward.

i don't think ron paul has anything much against israel except that she costs us a lot of money. he is anti-imperialist and i have to agree with him that we spend way too much abroad for a country with so many internal needs going begging.

many think that israel uses her position in a tense arena to twist america's arm, and i have to admit it looks very much that way.

in the meantime, i heard recently that a poll in israel gave only 23% support for netanyahu's warmongering against iran. he has been shouting for 20 YEARS that iran was going to have nukes any second. still hasn't happened.

it appears that a large majority of israelis are NOT in favour of war with iran, decimating iran, or anything to do with iran except stop the bully posturing and victim excuses and get on with it!
