They trumped up nothing to put this man in jail. They said he looked at the computer too much when he was on some kind of restriction. This is what you get with O'Bomber What will he do with a second term? IP: Logged |

Ami,He previously engaged in financial crimes - federal bank fraud charges, to which he pleaded "no contest." He stole identities and deposited fraudulent checks and withdrew the money. He violated the conditions of his probation, which prohibit him from the use of computers unless it is strictly for employment purposes. Youtube had nothing to do with his job. He was rightfully arrested on probation violation. I have no patience for these fly by night internet sensation types. IP: Logged |

He is safer in jail. Thousands of radicals and bounty hunters are waiting to finish him off. The authorities have done him a favor.Plus, he committed additional crimes of cheating his cast, dubbing their lines without consent etc. IP: Logged |

Dear IQ He was arrested for the equivalent of bogus stuff. It is really, really scary how this happened. As his U tube video was a bogus excuse for the planner violence. O'Bomber used the bogus excuse as long as his sorry butt could get away with it. A man was arrested from all of this made up crap. This is very scary, IQ. He stole identities and deposited fraudulent checks and withdrew the money. In what world is that small?? There is NO debate ; a federal crime is a federal crime for goodness sakes.

So, we just throw out the law of the land and make special allowances for those who we "choose" to make small potatoes. OK, that`s liberty and justice for all. ------------------ We dance around the ring and suppose, but the secret sits in the middle and Knows Robert Frost IP: Logged |

careful ami, a wave will come and wash away the sand you are trying so hard to keep your head stuck in.you started this thread, and now you want to pretend it is about nothing? identity theft is not small and this man ASKED to be arrested by not only breaking probation conditions but doing it in such a high-profile way. but if you want to see him as a martyr no one can stop you. perhaps he will appreciate your support enough to steal YOUR id, then you can see how "small" a crime it is. I disagree, Guys. People who do minor things do not end up in jail. That is real life. Remember, we are not in Heaven, yet

He stole identities and deposited fraudulent checks and withdrew the money. He violated the conditions of his probation - YTA this alone would earn him time "inside". even if he had not created a video that played into the hands of terrorists around the world. which he did, whether libya was a planned attack or not. and IQ is right too, the man has a price on his head. he is better off in jail! It looks like he was given a chance to redeem himself in the first place by receiving a light sentence. Yet he still blew it. Penalties for Identity Theft Crimes Definition
Federal laws define identity theft so that courts can apply legal punishments appropriately. As noted in The Identity Theft Penalty Enhancement Act, it is illegal to carry any false identification in an effort to impersonate someone else. Identity theft also consists of the unauthorized use of another person's personal identification information, including name, address and Social Security number, to open accounts, complete business transactions, enter into contracts or make purchases on credit. The ID Theft Act also specifies that consumers whose identities are the subject of identity theft are victims, in addition to creditors who lose money in cases of identity theft, who were already classified as victims under earlier laws.
Federal Penalties Federal law provides maximum penalties in cases of identity theft. These consist of up to 15 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine. In addition to the fine, which serves as legal punishment, anyone convicted of identity theft is also liable for paying damages to victims (including both consumers and creditors, whether they are individuals or businesses), as well as court costs. The Identity Theft Penalty Enhancement Act applies when criminals use identity theft in the process of committing another crime. The act adds two years of imprisonment to the maximum sentence that would otherwise apply if identity theft wasn't involved.
