Hello everyone. Climate change is real. Why is everyone in denial about this? What harm could possibly come from discontinuing to poison our planet and find alternative means of powering ourselves? Not to mention the millions of jobs available in the form of cleaning up our planet and our infrastructure?

Hi centaur... everyone is not against it. I am not sure if man is responsible but have been for clean energy, food, water and air since before anyone mentioned cLimate. Whether we can influence Earth's thermostat or not, we need those to survive, and if severe storms, volcanos and earthquakes are going to be more common - not to mention sea level rise even - we need to protect ourselves from the damage nuke and fossil energy plants and mining will create.But it is a political issue in many minds, not to mention psychological! Advocating for coal and oil is exactly that. As I have been saying all along. Climate changes naturally but if we don't adapt we are cooked (whether the weather gets warmer, colder or just more violent). Cutting down forests and poisoning water also create dustbowls and amplify drought. Even if we aren't changing the climate we are screwing ourselves and many species. And the solutions being put forward work whether we keep warming down or not.IP: Logged |

I hear ALEC have sbandoned Dr Soon, who was outted as being a pet of the right..and are suing people for portraying them as having lobbied against climate measures.I agree with you that carbon driving climate chsnge may turn out to have been wrong. But dirty energy is poisoning millions as we speak. Solar and wind are not so unreliable. Nor water. What is unreliable is peoples' ability to agree on the necessity to treat the Earth, and others, as they wish to be treated. The planet is not here for our benefit and refusing to adapt is suicidal. Or do you prefer evolving into transhuman? That is one scenario being floated by the profitheads.... IP: Logged |
