Believe me Peony i hear you on Clinton. And having looked into it it appears that claims that Bernie has been unable to work successfully in Congress are very much false. He has initiated over 200 bills that became law in his time in washington. I have yet to verify what they were

i hope that whomever gets the nomination dems and independents will come out in force and alter the face of congress. If Hillary is the nominee Sanders will campaign for her. The hard left (like the ghoul Chris Hedges) see this as betrayal but it will also keep his ideas in the forefront and the importsnt thing is an awake public taking part in OUR govt and not letting the careerists do as they please.

imo

She campaigned for Obama.

Meanwhile Trump is threatening a third party run..showing his true allegiance and its not to Republicans lol. Nor I suspect would he stand by the country if the chips fell wrong. If the profit were obviously in selling us out, say...

The Nevada Caucus is this Saturday, February 20th.

Tr Mars is conjunct Clinton's SN. She could lose in Nevada and/or there may be conflicts within her campaign.

Tr SN is conjunct her Moon. Of course, this is according to the 8:02 a.m. birth time.

Also, tr Saturn is in her 1H. All these may mean health issues surfacing. I think the Saturn trines to her Mars-Pluto shows the prodigious effort required to win this primary race.

Although Clinton's poll numbers continue to drop, in the early primary states and nationally, tr Jupiter/NN in the 10H is helping her campaign.

As for Bernie Sanders, tr Jupiter-NN is conjunct his natal NN which is helpful to him as he continues to rise in the polls after winning New Hampshire by 21.7 points.

Tr Saturn square his Sun (exact) and the tr Mars opposition to natal Saturn-Uranus reflects the titanic battle he is in to win Nevada and South Carolina.

Catalina, you may know this already, but when Sanders won his first race for mayor of Burlington, VT in 1981, he faced obstruction from politicians in other parties who refused to cooperate with his agenda. He was opposed at every turn. But, two years later, he won re-election along with a number of new progressives more aligned with his agenda.

Well, I guess I must be "hard left" because I don't see how Sanders - knowing what he stands for - could support Clinton, or if it comes to it, accept the VP spot. I'd be surprised if millennials vote for her if she is the nominee. But, polls show she wins by smaller margins than Sanders against a Republican. It would put him in a difficult position and he could be pressured to accept it or risk being blamed for the Dems losing the WH.

If I recall correctly, I think Hedges's criticism of Sanders has to do with his position on the Palestinians. I think he's wrong.

I don't see how her being the nominee will keep Sanders ideas in the forefront. Clinton will probably tack to the right (which is who she really is) in the general election.

Yes, I hope so, to your final comment.

Hedges sees Sanders as a false/soft progressive. I call him a ghoul because it seems he will not be happy till blood baths are seen as the only way to go, and all rich People lose their actual heads. To me he is too much. I dont think you are in his league... that's a compliment

I have no desire to see either bloody revolution, the chaos afterward, or the kind of suppression Hedges would use to ensure HIS vision of fairness...in fact I mostly avoid reading him apart from occasional checkins.

Sanders is not out to end capitalism but to ensure the rights of little people and prevent the last phase of corporate rule of our govt and the world... he cant just walk into the WH and wave a baton and he knows it. The "ship of state" can't pivot on a dime, it's an incremental process with a lot of tacking involved.

I'm not surprised. Hedges has a natal Saturn-Pluto square in his chart, which is evident in the image you are describing. This is an extremely potent combination, one that is difficult for most people to own and come to terms with. So unless a person is self-aware and has worked on themselves to make this energy conscious and integrate it, the energy is often projected onto others. I would say this is what Hedges is doing. There's a savagery and violence to Saturn-Pluto that is often suppressed or when it manifests comes out as annihilating criticism and scathing judgment, both in themselves and others.

Clinton has Saturn conjunct Pluto along with Mars, which we see in her foreign policy positions, i.e., regime change in Libya, support for the Iraq war, opposition to a cease fire in Syria, support for Israel, all of which leading to suffering and deaths of millions of people. She shares the mind set of the Washington political and media establishment that violence is an acceptable way to solve problems. So, she's a good example of a person who is projecting her Mars-Saturn-Pluto out into the world, rather than making these conscious and integrating it within herself.

I hear you - it's probably the Saturn-Pluto energy you're picking up on.

Oh, thank you.

Neither do I. I think the fundamental difference between Sanders and Clinton boils down to either that the system is corrupt and we need a political revolution (Sanders) or the system is fine and just needs improvements (Clinton).

Sanders' natal Mercury is trine Uranus and sextile Pluto. So he's in tune with the Uranus-Pluto zeitgeist, i.e., political revolution. In contrast, Clinton has a natal Mercury square Saturn and a cautious Mars-Saturn conjunction. She's a conservative who wants to maintain the status quo and thinks the system is fine, but just needs improvements. In my estimation, her Mercury square Saturn in fixed signs and her preponderance of fixed planets is a major liability as far as leadership ability in this era particularly. But generally, a leader needs to be flexible enough to shift, not as a matter of political expediency, but as a result of a recognition of the zeitgeist and where we are, and a vision and foresight to see where we are going as a people.

Nevada Democratic Caucus: February 20th

Based on these transits to the Progressed charts for Sanders and Clinton, it looks like they are more favorable to Sanders winning Nevada, although Mars opposing progressed Saturn presents a not insignificant obstacle. This could turn out like Iowa, or a win by a small margin.

Sanders:

Tr Jupiter-NN sextile Progressed MC
Tr Venus conjunct Progressed ASC
Tr Sun in Progressed 1H
Tr Mars opposed Progressed Saturn

Clinton:

Tr Mars is conjunct Progressed SN in Progressed 10H

Tr Saturn is conjunct Progressed Jupiter

Republican South Carolina Primary (February 20th) and Nevada Caucus (February 23)

"Polls taken prior to the South Carolina primary indicate that Donald Trump is the favorite to win in the Palmetto State. The polls indicate that Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz are fighting for second place in South Carolina.

Early Nevada polls have Trump with a sizable advantage in the state. Nevada has historically had a low turnout which makes the voting hard to predict prior to the caucus. The situation is fluid as the caucus could end up differently than the early projections.

Here’s a look at the latest GOP polls in Nevada:"

RealClear Politics Polling Average
(February 10-15):

Trump: 42%
Cruz: 20%
Rubio: 19%

Gravis Poll

Trump: 39%
Cruz: 23%
Rubio: 19%

CNN/ORC Poll

Trump: 45%
Rubio: 19%
Cruz: 17%

An NBC/WSJ/Marist poll (February 15-17):

Trump: 28%
Cruz: 23%
Rubio: 15%

Clinton wins in Nevada: 52.7% - 47.2% with 94.2% reporting

Tr Saturn on Clinton's Jupiter and Mars conjunct her SN didn't set her back in Nevada and she's enjoying a Jupiter-NN transit in her 10H.

Tr Mars will moves within three degrees of her 1H Jupiter, which should boost her confidence as she heads into what is expected to be a decisive win in South Carolina.

I think the Saturn square to Sanders Sun and the Mars opposing natal Saturn were the transits that brought about a loss for him. Unfortunately, the same transits will be operative during the convention in July.

Trump won South Carolina (33%) over Marco Rubio (22%) and Ted Cruz (21%).

Jed Bush is out. Ohio Governor, John Kasich, and retired neurosurgeon, Ben Carson, although in single digits remain in the race.

In her speech after winning the Nevada Caucus on February 20th, Clinton echoed Sanders' speeches word for word. The website is too partisan for my taste, but this diarist does a remarkable job of laying out the fact-based and policy differences between Clinton and Sanders.
