I believe that, baring a criminal inditement prior to the election, Hillary Clinton will be the next president. I can't think of large groups that want that, but from both the Sanders camp and the "traditional" Republican base, she will be seen as the lesser of all evils. This election makes me sad. Trump has brought Republicans back to the polls again and in quite a bit more numbers than Dems are showing. Trump can beat Clinton. You can count on that. After two terms, in modern history, the pendulum swings toward the other side. IP: Logged |

I personally don`t want Hillary but lets be honest here.Trump opened the POTUS door for Hillary . He was about the only one who could ensure her presidency. Others may have given a good race and won but he pulled it off.

Looks like a really good chance for a contested convention with the last win by Cruz.IP: Logged |

Winning States doesn't matter as much as winning delegates for BernieIt’s Really Hard To Get Bernie Sanders 988 More Delegates

He's only down by 200 or so pledged delegates and there's still a long way to go yet. A big win in New York, Pennsylvania, or California would erase that deficit or at the very least put a huge dent in it. Regardless of whether you think he can pull it off or not, you can't argue the fact that he has all the momentum now. He's starting to win states and win them by wide margins and he's also starting to win over the minorities. Hillary has done nothing but lose leads. And most of the states she has won have been states that will never vote democrat in the general election anyway. Bernie is the one winning blue states.IP: Logged |

Maybe. But the States you mentioned...California he needs by double digits. It's too big for him to not win big. NY is Hillary's "home" state. PA went for Hillary over Obama in '08. It's going to be a tough one for him to win. Lose any of those three means making up even more ground in less delegate rich States. Not impossible, but daunting. IP: Logged |

In case you didn't know, Bernie is actually from New York (Brooklyn). So I don't see Hillary having any advantage there. Heck, she barely won in her real home state (Illinois). The mainstream media tries to make it seem like Bernie doesn't have a chance by showing all of the superdelegates in the delegate counts. The problem with that is they wont vote until the convention and they can, and will, switch sides if the people want Bernie. They will not go against the people because that would be political suicide for them. If the current trend continues Bernie will win the nomination. He is growing in popularity every single day and draws huge crowds to all of his rallies. None of this would be possible without the internet and social networking sites. Fortunately, we do have those things and the mainstream media can't control the messages people are getting anymore. People have access to the facts on the internet and they are using it and waking up. The people are finding out that Bernie is a man of integrity who will confront the real issues the people of this country are dealing with.IP: Logged |

What you say about Bernie and the will of the people also goes for the Republicans. I would love to see a Bernie/Trump contest. Unfortunately, it will likely be Clinton/Cruz. Or maybe even Clinton/Bush. If the Republican convention is contested, they could put anyone in.IP: Logged |

Some superdels will switch, some are too firmly bought to do so. We'll see I guess. Poor Hillary is trotting out the old moves she used to try to discredit Obama... she must be having a dejavu nightmare about now.IP: Logged |

Found out there's a Rule 40 that they would not have enough delegates to override, which states they can only nominate those who won 8 states. That's only Trump and Cruz. I stand by my original prediction: Cruz and Clinton. IP: Logged |

Trump just gets more charming with each passing day. Of course Clinton has bullied delegates with money wonder why he doesn't go that route? http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/trumps-convention-strategy-the-fix-is-in?mbid=nl_TNY+Template+-+With+Photo+%2825%29&CNDID=36450209&spMailingID=8766867&spUserID=MTA5MjQwODg0 NTc5S0&spJobID=900963814&spReportId=OTAwOTYzODE0S0IP: Logged |

I've been seeing a lot of pleas or people just plain telling Bernie supporters, that they should support Hillary - either just give up on Bernie right now, or support Hillary if she wins the nomination.I had no problem with them ASKING, until I remembered Hillary supporters saying they either wouldn't vote in 2008, or would vote Republican, when Obama won the nomination. OK, gotta ask. Don't want you to reveal more than you're comfortable with, but in general, which area? I'm in SW PA. To the topic, I'm seeing Trump and Bernie exclusively. But I'm figuring Philly and Harrisburg are creatures of the Dem machine, and Philly has all the weight. Also, PA is somewhat unique in voting for delegates instead of directly for candidates. In 92 (or 96 maybe) the choices were all already pledged for Bill regardless of which one you voted for... Have to see who is available when the primary finally gets here. IP: Logged |

I've seen a "honk for Trump" written on the side of a van, in a more affluent area. I haven't seen stickers, otherwise.Clinton easily won Ohio in the primary, though. And Trump lost here, as well. (Ohio.) IP: Logged |

SE PAMy county voted for Obama in 2008, 2012. Elections are too complex...our actual leverage seems non-existent.

Finally checking into the thread I created- boy was I wrong about Trump. However, even if he gets the Republican nod, I have a hard time imaging he will beat Hilary. Cruz definitely is still a strong contender, and wouldn't be surprised if he beats out Trump. Hilary is not my preferred candidate compared to Sanders, and even though I would vote for her if I had to, its kind of hilarious now the Hilary supporters who refused to vote for Obama 4 years ago want me to vote for her if Bernie loses. Ok. I see Teasel beat me to this. Yeah, and while Bernie could pull an Obama, he's still got a massive disadvantage to overcome. Too bad he didn't win NY- that would have been great for momentum. Depends on what the superdelegates decide to do as well. Either way, what's he done the past few months is impressive. quote: Originally posted by Faith: In my area in PA, I have not seen a single Hillary bumper sticker.Trump, Bernie, Ben Carson a while back...and that's it.
Heh, only difference here is that I've literally seen a sign on a car saying 'Morons- stop voting for Trump.' IP: Logged |

One week to PA, and something I've noticed. I've seen one or two Bernie stickers, and a handful of Trump. That's about it. What I haven't seen are signs... in yards, along the roads... Usually they're everywhere. It's how you know election day is coming. Not this year though. Just a few for local candidates, and not nearly as many of those as usual.I think even for those who have a favorite, we're not very enthusiatic to show it. Sad. PA's primary happens so late in the season that often our vote doesn't matter. IP: Logged |
