Ami Anne, most French police units (there are several levels of police) are armed to varying degrees. https://www.quora.com/Why-do-the-French-police-not-carry-firearms Though French police are not as militarized as American police, France nonetheless has a lower murder rate than the US. (Compare the US' murder rate of 5 per 100,000 to France's 1.4 per 100,000.) http://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2011/oct/10/world-murder-rate-unodc The French police are definitely not "surrender monkeys." Considering the scope and scale of the attacks, they and the rest of the government responded very well and did a good job at protecting lives. They have been very prepared for this ever since the 2005 riots and the Charlie Hebdo attacks. Other countries (namely Germany) have already offered military support, but I don't think random people on the internet necessarily have the experience to coordinate defense maneuvers like this. I follow these things. Guns are super, super important. The GOOD guys have to retain and have guns. The bad guys will get them.Anyway, I am shaking from the pain of this horrible, terror attack, once again, so I am going to go read a book, my way of relaxing. ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Hot Air, indeed... must be the most trustworthy source of news on the entire planet. Surely they took the time to carefully research every detail before reporting, to honor their distinguished name. Here's something more useful: http://www.loc.gov/law/help/police-weapons/france.php Oops... turns out I was wrong. They don't use holy water ammo after all. IP: Logged |

And since that attack you refer to in that link, for an event such as the one last night in Paris ,,, nothing has been regular for them,,HIGHER STATE OF READINESS, that was all I implied and I still believe that. Of course they did not take to putting a gun on every cops hip. I thinketh you like to argue. done. ------------------ LeekingChee IP: Logged |

Ami Anne, the Hot Air article only says that the police called because they were outgunned by attackers holding AK-47s. This is a problem in every country, including the United States - most policemen don't carry the equipment to deal with AK-47s on a regular basis because it's just not necessary most of the time. This is a national tragedy for France right now. I've always hated it when people drag their own political beliefs into other people's pain, whether it is gun control proponents or gun rights activists protesting after one of the USA's many mass shootings. I am also critical of mainstream gun control measures, but this is not the right venue to discuss it. IP: Logged |

I feel sad not only for what is happening now, but also for the people who started shooting, because they don't know what they are doing nor who is this 'deity' they are supporting. Just how much pain this world needs, to realize any deity that finds great delight in gruesome acts of violence and morbid sacrifices cannot be 'god'? Is it that difficult to understand? It may sound crazy, but I see no fault in any political/religious group for the ignorant act of violence commited today; because they are just victims of this 'divine infamy'. How can they be in fault, when they are so blind, so blind that they can't even see straight? ( Unleast, of course, they'd know the true nature of their god, Yaldabaoth, the demiurge. But I find this too disturbing to even considerate it as a possible option; which makes me question if in fact, there's more than just ISIL behind this event )

Echoing Vajra in saying thank you, @deepseastar. I hope our French users are all safe and sound.Attacks like these put the whole world on edge. And to have ISIL applauding the "success" of the attacks on Twitter is just-- I don't understand it. IP: Logged |

Hi everyone. I am sorry for the incorrect time in the chart. I posted the chart based on the timings a news reporter gave of a time when possibly the attacks occurred and I just been to sleep. I will retify the chart asapI just saw the death toll increase and police have appeared to killed most of the attackers, but you can't guarantee anything unfortunately :/ France<3

Thank you for posting this...I was going to write my own long-winded post in reply to some of the things that have been posted in this thread, but then I realized I'm pretty jaded and shocked by the events today - someone very dear to me lives in Paris. She's thankfully OK but understandably very shocked and upset. I decided to delete my reply. You pretty much summed up what I was thinking, anyway. IP: Logged |

Leeloo,I am glad you are okay. It is such a horrible thing. Personally I couldnīt sleep after these news (I am saying this cause I can ALWAYS sleep, no matter what happens, so the fact that this ability was so much reduced for me, simply shows how much I was affected by this on an emotional level.) (on a side note I do agree with Vajra; was thinking the same thing. One of her first posts here in the thread) I donīt really have words. It`s just such a horrible sad day, and it makes me equally sad, concerned and angry. IP: Logged |

Is there any astrological way to find out if this is going to happen in Germany? I am afraid that this is going to happen in Germany- but we are not involved that much in Syria and were never involved in Iraq. Hate & anger is going to spread, that is for sure. The perfect platform for silly Islamphobics...i am waiting to hear their stupid talks...but we Germans now that 3 millions Turks have been living in Germany for decades and none of them have been involved in islamic activities. Somehow this is always been forgotten.... IP: Logged |

Dear Eneline, we need to be careful here. we never know for sure what of who is behind a terrorist attack. what we can do is try to connect with a higher energy, connect with the commpassion side of us and feel commpassion even for the attackers. we never know the whose agenda we are defending. if we want to help to prevent these to happen, then each of us has to become an instrument of positive charging. lets not get into the fear (dont know who want us to be fearful of feed from fearful energy) or hate (same again, who benefit out of hateful feelings?) let us try to be calm and send compassionate vibes to all that needs soul healing. this is what we need to do in a mass scale to see changes. lets not become an instrument of hate... best wishes IP: Logged |

I am hearing the radio news. I hear the stories, how they hid in the toilets of the bataclan, or those who lied on the floor below corpse while the terrorist were shooting them... I am currently unable to send positive energies to the attackers. Really. It hurts. And feeling 2 opposing emotions at the same time is humanly impossible. IP: Logged |

Enneline, Noone can say FOR SURE this is going to happen in Germany, though it`s unfortunately likely, and in fact in 2006 some attack was being prevented through sheer luck (technical failure of those bombs placed in trains, which were set to blow up in Dortmund and Koblenz I believe).
To be honest it was one of my thoughts this morning. Who`s going to be next? London or some bigger city in Germany?
I hope I am wrong of course. And it may take some time, let the dust settle and the people feel calm again, so the impact will be greater (unless planting a series so the states will be kept in a continual state of shock and chaos).
Anyway, I really really hope I am wrong about that.
As for the astrology, I think probably you can see the transits for the country`s horoscope, and if something volatile might happen (it could be, if I remember it right, we were an Aries-country, right? Or something in Aries?)
But that would just be tendencies of course. IP: Logged |
