I love this July 4th holiday. I know it has a little to do with being in Cancer season. It's also symbolic of noble ideas and celebrates strong action. It's the only secular holiday I acknowledge (I don't do mama's day, etc). I think my native heritage connects me to this land deeply. Despite all the bad things that have happened in our history some basic facts remain; we are all blessed to be under the shade of the Constitution...And most of us love our neighbors. I love mine. I spend the 4th weekend or a few days before the 4th studying (our history, presidents...super interesting stuff), like I do during the religious holidays. A different conversation made me remember this 3hr documentary. So this is how I'm celebrating while I work this 4th weekend.nobody does it like a 70s documentary huh 😖 guess it concludes in the 90s so its a 90s video...when did the 90s get to look so...olden days? 😃 IP: Logged |

Happy 4th!! We will be celebrating it in typical small town Americana style. Friends, neighbors and all welcome to the festivities! I work Monday morining too but won`t miss any of the fun activities & yummy BBQ!. ------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

juniperb, thanks for the Works When I'm not working we go to see the lights in a small town. We watch the fireworks from the little league baseball field. Love the show, but my favorite part is after the show when the kids start lighting sparklers and kicking up the dust in the diamond at the same time. It's the coolest sight. The sparklers light up the field and you get a glimpse of the other parents sitting in their lawn chairs on the edge of the field. Little kids chase each other with little American flags. Bigger kids are doing all kinds of things they shouldn't be doing. If I get a chance to go, I go because my children love the lights. I love that moment I described. It's kind of a Cancerean delight in Cancer season. Have fun! I loooove BBQs. Did you say you're going to a BBQ or am I just wishing I was going to a BBQ? IP: Logged |

I find that Republicans tend to have more of a sense of humor and can laugh at themselves more than Democrats. Why so serious? IP: Logged |

I was at home, and then the hospital, on July 4th. We watched fireworks after we left the hospital - from a street in Canton, close to a park. Same place as last year, only Mum was there, too. IP: Logged |
