It wasn't a protest. It was a riot.IP: Logged |

It was the outside agitators that destroyed property.** The students themselves were peaceful protesters and even helped clean up afterwards. I know people who attend this school. They told me. And regardless of first hand accounts I've heard, students who go to *Berkeley* are way too smart to resort to physical violence like this. No-one can say for each individual, but as a unit - nope, no way. People from here were the ones whose examples I was talking about in the other thread, but I want to protect their privacy. The way they were treated was shocking. And keep in mind, they are pure academics, a lot of them are PhD students who contribute nothing but good research to America. Perfect track records. Forget about violence, they aren't even remotely on the wrong side of the law about anything. Upstanding citizens and just innocent students. **They're called "black bloc" protesters - basically anarchists who re-surface at protests to throw in their own version of "activism". They've been around since way before Trump, got nothing to do with students at Berkeley either. They just take advantage of existing peaceful protesters to further their own propaganda. This article in the Washington Post observes their activities over the years - ‘Black bloc’ protests return for Trump era IP: Logged |

And I would hardly call smashing university building windows, starting fires, throwing Molotov cocktails at police officers, and physically attacking people "criticism."IP: Logged |

Extreme actions will cause extreme reactions? So, you support violence? The protest was over a conservative speaker. To the left, free speech only applies if said speech agrees with them. Trump IS listening to the people. He made promises to his supporters. He's keeping his word. That's not a dictatorship. That's democracy.IP: Logged |

What you may believe doesn't make it factual. The ones who belong in prison are those who are committing acts of violence in riots across the nation. The rule of law is not oppression. Well, to anarchists, maybe it is. Trump doesn't want to arrest journalists. He enjoys exposing them instead. Obama was the one who couldn't take journalistic criticism and went after the freedom of the press. Trump doesn't care about criticism. It was the lack of free speech that Trump objected to. Apparently, that only applies to speech from the left. Trump goes right along with his agenda, completely unhampered by the protests. Supporting the left = supporting violence and intolerance.IP: Logged |

Guilty? I don't think Trump has been convicted of anything, has he? And you like Obama. You don't trust anyone who doesn't like Obama. I think that makes you partisan.IP: Logged |

I remember you said you don't trust anyone who doesn't like Obama, did you not? It doesn't matter what I think about Cosby. The law sets out a pricess to determine guilt. We are a nation of laws.IP: Logged |

Too pro gay rights? Obama was against gay marriage much of his first term! And the people he released from GITMO have been closely tracked. Many have returned to terror organizations as heroes. BTW, Trump's own team and cabinet nominees all the way up to Pence have criticized Trump. He learns from it. He doesn't want lap dogs. The latest involved torture. I date say he enjoys being disagreed with. What he doesn't enjoy is being lied about or attacked. His father taught him to hit back harder, and that's exactly what he does.IP: Logged |

^ I still don't understand why you group everyone who disagrees with you into 'the left' Some people don't even subscribe to the leftist/rightist crap in the first place o.0IP: Logged |

The protesters at these two riots were calling the conservative speakers Nazis among other derogatory statements. It was clear the protesters have a leftist slant. As usual, my point is missed. Everyone should have 1st Amendment rights of free speech, but the intolerant left think otherwise. IP: Logged |
