Washington, DC- Today, in response to the U.S. House passing the Tax Cut and Jobs Act, the Patriotic Millionaires released a video statement featuring several of their members. Their responses to the plan ranged from “Republican Feudalism” to “Welfare for the Wealthy.”
Patriotic Millionaire Eric Schoenberg doubled down on a charge he made in a recent Stuart Varney appearance which received 13 million views on Facebook and forced a response from the Fox Host. “For the last 30 years, every time Congress has gone in to change the tax system, I have come out ahead,” said Mr. Schoenberg.
Patriotic Millionaire Chair Morris Pearl, a former BlackRock, Inc. Managing Director said, “Giving a tax break to a small number of the very richest people might help a small number of the very richest people, but it certainly is not going to help anyone else.”
“When men and women sit down a year from now to fill out that first Trump tax return, they’re going to have their hearts broken,” said Patriotic Millionaire Leo Hindery, Jr., Managing Partner of InterMedia Partners and former CEO of AT&T Broadband.
It’s very simple.
“When you give millionaires a tax cut, the middle class will pay.”

WHAT THEY'VE ALSO SAID ABOUT THIS BILL "Almost eleven hundred pages long, the final bill is just as regressive and fiscally irresponsible as either of the two earlier bills, and it is argquably more so.” #TaxScam#NotOnePenny https://t.co/qFECJwCWdu
"At its center is a huge tax cut for corporations and unincorporated business partnerships—such as the ones that Donald Trump owns—while arrayed around the edges are all sorts of carve-outs and giveaways to favored industries and interest groups.”
The Final Version of the G.O.P. Tax Bill Is a Corrupt, Cruel, Budget-Busting Hairball
Absent from the bill are revenue neutrality, simplicity, and fairness—three elements that congressional leaders promised to deliver when they urged Americans to embrace tax reform.

Only 26% americans favor the tax scam (randall, jwhip included). They're still trying to ram it through. Sen bob corker, who was holding out earlier, and 45 himself have gotten sweetheart deals behind closed doors so they're satisfied
This is going to be the impetus for the 2018 and 2020 blue wave...down w/ all the corrupt politicians

News flash: The public always has a low approval rating of tax reform. When they see more money in their pockets, opinions will change. Reagan's reform had approval in the teens! From January 1986 to June 1987 the economy grew by 12%! And that was with a rock bottom economy. This time around, it will be like pouring gasoline on an already blazing fire. IP: Logged |

There's a sucker botn ev minuteDo you think a grp of millionaires are lying when they say they don't want any more money, that it shld go to help the poor and disenfranchised? Did you even watch/listen to their vid statement? Thank goodness i don't get my "news flashes" from people like you. And yes no question, in the minds 75% of americans...they ARE ramming it through, so that people don't get a chance to react. If you think this is is a democratic process, then you cldn't be more wrong. If it was democratic, why do it behind closed doors, why the secret deals. BASIC PREMISE - tax deficits are ALWAYS made up by the middle class and the poor. And i'm NOT concerned by how much money people get back in their pockets for 1 miserable year. What abt the year aftr that? And the one aftr that? The whole thing is a SCAM. You can continue supporting it, maybe you shld volunteer to make up the entire deficit since you favor it so much. That can be your life long charity. But don't expect that the poor will sit quiet and follow your lead.

Yes, and the year after that and that and that...for ten years, in fact. Because Dems won't vote for anything, we are only able to use budget measures that restrict us to ten years. I have to wonder if you actually believe much of what you say. This is a tax cut where most Americans will pay zero. The personal exemption is doubled. The childcare credit is doubled. People with children who owe no income will still be able to get $1,400. But it hurts the poor and middle class? Where do you get your facts from? Yes, it also is a boon for corporations, being that businesses are the ones who give the poor and middle class jobs. IP: Logged |

I get my facts from honest economists plus people like these ungreedy millionaires who deal w/ money day in and out...unlike you who is satisfied to have his head buried in degrees. Whatevr those degrees are in, i'm pretty sure they're not in economy. I prefer to listen to people who've already made millions over you...to people who clearly haven't been weakened by all that money to not be able to speak the truth and expose scams when they see fit.

Reagan's tax cuts created 12% growth in just over a year. A thriving economy helps all of us. Corporations actually help the poor all the time, including reducing global poverty and philanthropy. I'd post links, but you know how to Google. Do it fast before they start charging per search. We all know the end of the internet is near and nigh upon us. But creating jobs is the biggest impact.IP: Logged |

I wonder where that old saw.. popular in finance circles as elsewhere.. comes from? What goes up must come down. The economy grew 12% you say? And how much did it shrink practically overnight? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Monday_(1987) IP: Logged |

Reagan, the actor, is ancient history, you can continue living in his story, i prefer to live in the present, and see w/ my own eyes what corporate greed does to the middle class. Hello? If they were so philanthropic why is the middle class continuously shrinking. Gov of illinois said he wanted to run illinois like a business and we can see the tragic consequences of that business (by we i mean those of us connected to real reality instead of an alternate one) Puerto rico was left to be run like a business by corporations and they extracted EVERYTHING they cld from it. And aside from tesla, branson and a few good millionaires, NO ONE, not even the govt, run by a so called businessman, lifted a finger to help PR when they were/are still dying. The navy ships were sitting idle while he kept saying asinine things abt how it was difficult to get to puerto rico bc...you know, it's like, like an island...you know, and there's all this ocean in between. NEVER in my whole life have i been so embarrassed to watch someone excuse themselves while not wanting to help their own countrymen. And you're so cut off from reality that you thought i was making up the # of puerto ricans dead. It's more than 1100. The morgues are overflowing w/ bodies. But you preferred to accuse me of fear mongering rather than trying to get real information (no not from google) So you carry on floating in your pretty little bubble abt how good and philanthropic corporations are, but you can count me out. I'm a realist first and foremost, I prefer to know abt real life examples of what corporations can do
And there's nothing you can say that will prevent me from looking at current reality...this tax bill is going to he paid for by the middle class and the poor. The end. Spread over many years the middle class and the poor will continue to slave, more than ever before, to pay off the tax breaks the rich are being given. Anything to the contrary that you believe in is your own reality, bc you buy into anything the GOP says no matter how horrendous.
The koch brothers threatened to withhold 800 million of their dark money from the 2018 elections unless this bill passes. So the GOP must deliver these tax breaks in the billions to them, or the repubs will lose in 2018. What the GOP greed is preventing them from seeing is that the whole country is watching...w/ 75% against this bill, it is very myopic on the GOP's part to think that people will lovingly allow them to retain their seats
Like i said i prefer to learn from real people dealing w/ real money, people who are real millionaires, who don't feel pressured by greed, and who know that one day evyone has to leave and they can't take property, yatchs, private jets, stocks and shares w/ them. These are people who are american patriots and they are saying, we are rich, we don't need anymore handouts. THEY are unusual bc they are non conformists and haven't been programmed. So THEY have my attention, not you, bc you're too afraid to step outside the shadow of the GOP and make your own choices. It's an immature love you have for your party, but that's your business.
[They also have my respect, bc anyone who can put aside ego and fear to speak the truth, has my respect]
And i know you will refute that you have an immature love for your party...which of course will be further proof of immaturity...that you can't even see the immaturity

If the left cared about the poor, Democrat run cities wouldn't be so poverty stricken and delapidated. For decades the residents of these cities have had their votes solicited by Dems during election time, yet they receive no help other than government dependency to buy their votes, while they continue to barely eke out a meager subsistance. If that's caring, I would prefer detachment. Learn the truth about the tax bill: http://fairandsimple.gop/ http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/12/18/another-poll-exposes-the-steep-toll-of-fake-news-about-tax-cuts/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social IP: Logged |

That explains your complete lack of understanding about this bill, because you are just parroting what you hear from fear-mongering sites instead of the facts. Isn't that actually the textbook definition of mind control? The first link is just a summary of the bill itself, so you will know what is actually in it, and a link to the actual bill to read for yourself. Perhaps you don't understand that the vast majority of businesses in this country are small businesses. Many of these are single owned or couple-owned LLCs and S Corps. Lindaland is owned by an S Corp. I am the only shareholder. Yes, large corporations (C Corps) get a tax reduction (reduced to 21%), but all of the other business entities (including sole proprietorships) get a 20% deduction. These are the bulk of businesses in the US, and they are mostly not the rich. This pushes the money directly into the middle class. These S Corp shareholders and LLC managers ARE the middle class. These small businesses are mom and pops that only formed an LLC for liability protection to keep their personal assets safe in today's sue-happy society or an S Corp for the same reason and also to save some on the oppressive self-employment tax. Don't worry abt trying to convince me that i'm mind controlled. I told you i don't visit sites that you do and no amt of needling from you is going to change that. I have all the tax bill related info i need, so plz don't put yourself out in an attempt to teach me. I also don't listen to people who put party above all else, bc such a strong identification w/ an organization is a classic ex of someone operating from their base 3 chakras. As far as parroting what others say, i see you doing nothing but that in all your posts...you parrot evything your party says. Nothing in your posts is different from the rest of the GOP.
I think before you try and give me a lesson in economics, maybe try and remove your internal fear blocks first? Bc the noise of that fear is overwhelming for me. I cannot focus on anything you say bc i'm flooded w/ so much fear energy from you
And no, you're not detached...more like disconnected from who you really are...and fearful

And you're all abt scoring a point. Also a sign of fear...and defensiveness. So many of your responses on this forum are defensive. No matter what anyone says, you've just got to score, you've got to have a comeback. That's what the machismo energy of this country is abt isn't it? And that's why you have a programmed bully like jwhop on this forum. You don't care what boundaries he crosses as long as he can sock it to the dems It is from your place of fear that you think doug jones is a baby killer. You have difficulty seeing people for who they are. That's what party affiliation will do to you...you see no problem in controlling a woman's decision along w/ her doctor's...abt the necessity for terminating late pregnancies for medical reasons. The desire to control comes from fear. That's why i said i was appalled at your posts in the roy moore thread, bc your responses were so fear based
When i was last on LL a couple of yrs ago, your energy was not so hard, it has become harder now. Up to you to decide if you wany to change it. You're definitely disconnected from your true source.
Now you can continue indulging in bashing me defensively on this thread bc you think you have 4 degrees and you're smarter than evyone else, or you can take a deep breath, stop engaging so much in arguments and take a look inward to see what you can do to become less fearful. Also up to you. You alone are the master of your own fate

Reagans tax cuts created deficit and debt that had to be corrected - only partially - but continued to ubdercut any appatent growth for 12 years Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982. The legislation raised revenue by $98 billion over three years in response to a looming deficit of $200 billion. Reagan, who agreed that the tax hike was needed, took New York Representative Jack Kemp, a supply-side zealot, “to the woodshed” when the congressman voiced his opposition in a private meeting, according to one staffer. Dole, with Reagan’s support, won the battle. This was the largest peacetime tax hike since World War II..... Still ...the national debt went from $1 trillion to $4 trillion in only 12 years. partly because of those '86 moves http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2017/12/blo wing-up-the-deficit-is-part-of-the-plan/548720/?utm_source=atlfb IP: Logged |
