Facebook keeps growing despite scandals and privacy outrage Kind of proves the point that many under 30 couldn't find their own a$$es with both hands, a searchlight and a map from a proctologist. Imagine knowing that Facebook is selling their private information, tracking them online and inviting other businesses to read their private correspondence...AND still not telling Facebook to stuff it where the sun don't shine. The makings of perfect little slaves. IP: Logged |

As I already said, the FB privacy statement does warn people before they sign up if they can be bothered to read. Why i never post anything there I want to keep...private!They are not so good at this tracking some people worry about so much.. they have settled on me living in Fla, for instance, tho there isnt a single "clue" on my page or in my posts that would imply that, cos i don't. ^ Ya google's the worst culprit, bish asks for e-mail constantly in the name of verifying age and what nott, I bet even laptop companies know our data and can track us down any time thru the location of the laptop. And some websites come up with the dumbest schemes, they ask for credit card infos even if they state 'they don't need it and their service is free'...like hell I'mma give it to them! smh!! I came across this website which generates fake credit card numbers but turns out it does not work, more smhh!! I find it so hilarious though, thiss little amount of privacy the states kindly offer us these days, and how much we value itt IP: Logged |

Actually they have an old email addy i don't use and i rarely email my friends. As I said, they appear to think i live on the opposite coast. I get ads that have nothing to do with me. Not all that worried. I trust my friends to be smart enough to take their own privacy in hand. Meanwhile your wonderful govt is taking special measures to identify people who have visited "anti trump" pages. Which i haven't but honestly it's scarier than someone looking to sell me something IP: Logged |

It's not a problem at all. Those 3 or 4 people were earlier arrested for illegal activity associated with Trump's inauguration. It's just common sense to investigate who else may form the basis for a conspiracy to violate federal laws. Mueller and demorats have been investigating Trump for 2 years under the hair brained theory of a Conspiracy involving Russia. Time after time, Mueller and demorats have come to the plate and struck out. IP: Logged |

The trawl was judged too broad by the court. There is no justification for collecting the private info of over a million people because they once looked at a page. You protest when this is done for advertisers but not the govt. Why?IP: Logged |

Bullshiiite. More than a million people were not involved in any DOJ search warrant. Pulling your facts out of the ether again! But, why would you give a rotten rat's a$$? You've authorized Facebook to read your facebook messages, your emails and your contact list....so they can spy on your friends too. IP: Logged |

Now the government has followed up that initial demand with a search warrant seeking a huge array of records “related to” the website. Those records would include the IP addresses of over 1.3 million visitors to the site. From the aclu article. As to my friends privacy, they signed the same consent. And you are not on my list of contacts, tho you're likely on Randall's.. maybe you should complain to him IP: Logged |

"From the aclu article."The ACLU is not a credible source for anything. They exaggerate for political effect because they're a leftist lunatic political organization. There aren't enough FBI and DOJ personnel to search a million or more documents...for anything. Blowing smoke up someone's kazoo..but not mine! IP: Logged |

We have increasingly violent political factions within the US. We're splintering into ever smaller and diversified antagonistic tribes, riled up by public figures. (Witness a Jewish Republican congressman and a Muslim Democratic congresswoman trade public accusations of Anti Semitism and Islamophobia) If the DOJ *wasn't* monitoring both the far left and far right a reasonable person would declare them negligentYou want to be a third world banana republic, you'll be treated like a third world banana republic IP: Logged |

How do you engage with someone who would cite the ACLU for anything other than laughs. I honestly do not know the answer to that question. Id like to know, but I don't. Lord knows I have tried. But its either willful ignorance or outright malfeasance and how do you reason with that? The best I can say about the ACLU is it is maybe one step better than the SPLC. Maybe.IP: Logged |

Are you talking of the kuklux klan back in the days ? The hanging ? Or the indian genocide ? Those in charlottesville yesterday ? And differently but no less violent those who made it possible to murder Kenedy in the 60's How is now more violent now than before ? Factions ? Why use that term now ? That is not objective to me, but biased IP: Logged |

So are you and Randall suing FB for breach of your privacy, jwhop? Perhaps all of LL should sue Randall for exposing them thru his pages there?Hey, no skin off my nose if you and other facebook users want facebook tracking your every move online, on your private telephone numbers AND all the people in your email contact list...and selling your private user information to advertisers. If you want to give up your own privacy rights, go for it but just make sure the people in your email contact lists don't mind either. As for me, I'll take a pass on all that. We have all been being monitored for a long time. As tech improves exponentially the ability to actually sift thru the oceans of data also increases. Yes, shura, before the counter culture freaks .it was anyone who'd ever said "goodday" to a suspected communist; J Edgar was convinced that the Kennedys were commies, by the way... and MLK. Three dead men and one thoroughly discredited During the 60s it was uppity blacks and hippies who were harassed and imprisoned as often as possible, Today it's people who consider Tromp unsuitable and illegitimate. All "collateral damage".. but its way worse to receive unsolicited ads on fb! And way more important to mock, intimidate and BEAT people with different viewpoints. To make assumptions about what they think without listening. To use anything they say as an excuse for a soap box on socialism of another country being a dandy excuse for continuing to meddle in others governments. Oh, and i cited the aclu because they were involved in that case. At one time i also "liked" Sarah Palins page, because that was the only way to see what she posted firsthand. Sometimes others shed light in things not found in one's "approved" box. 10/4? Over and out IP: Logged |
