"strong evidence"  The results of DNA IS strong evidence. Relying on statements from relatives..that generations ago, there was a family fight over someone in the family marrying a Native American IS NOT strong evidence.  1/32nd part Native American is necessary to establish tribal affiliation. In Warren's claim, her Stanford geneticist (a buddy?) claims there was a high likelihood that she had one unadmixtured Native American ancestor from six to ten generations back. And instead of testing his claim with Native American DNA, he used Mexican DNA, which is known to be infused with European bloodlines.Given the potential buddy factor, one wonders how she'd do in a blind DNA test from Ancestry.com, the kind Trump said he'd like to throw her at a presidential debate. Howie Carr suspects she already had taken that and didn't like the result, which would explain why she has been so silent as Trump has had his fun.

I know people who use the DNA sites.. they're not necessarily accurate as is obvious from the variations in different companies' findings for the same individual. Of course it's mandatory to reject evidence (remember Obamas birth certificate?) And we wouldn't want to kill a great gag would we? oh boy Everyday I hear what I think must surely be the most hilarious news story I have ever heard. And then tomorrow tops it!
watching people try to defend this ridiculous story is near as funny as the story itself!

No one's defending the story. I mentioned it because as the family story goes this was an issue one generation ago in Oklahoma. Not many generations ago as suggested earlier. I find it fascinating that this whole rerun storm in a teacup is eclipsing real news. Expect interminable installments until 2020 .. IP: Logged |

she would test out with a much..much higher part as American Indian instead of 1/1024. Don't neglect the "dilution" factor. IP: Logged |

Another politician talking crap that does not reflect how she votes or what her platform is.From before "I am not a crook" to "read my lips", politicians have talked crap since the dawn of man. Yep surprise! Warren is a politician. Another surprise, DT has made a campaign to discredit her on the basis that she claims even a distant connection to Native Americans. Yet another surprise, he claims "our ancestors tamed a continent" tho his ancestors are ALL recent European immigrants, draft dodgers on two continents who would never have settled here if Germany hadn't expelled Granpa. Basically implying that the previous residents were "savages".And yes, I'm aware of tribal sensitivity to white cooption. Also that different tribes have different ways of determining legitimacy not always locked to blood quantum. Im not crazy about warren and ive seen her giving lip service, for instance at standing rock, when it was too late to make a difference. I aware that this drive to protect Native voting rights is "politically motivated" but I don't really care why they do it as long as it's done.
