I have been a Democrat my entire life. My family has been voting Democrat for decades. We believe in things like decent wages, access to healthcare, and affordable education. Those are the kinds of issues Democrats used to focus on.Now the left has devolved into the victim olympics. It isn't about equality and helping the working man anymore. It is about being outraged just to be outraged. "Let's expose a guy and get him fired for something he did decades ago in a completely different context and mindset! That'll show him! The evil racist, misogynistic, homophobic etc.b*****!" That is what the left has become and it turns me off. I'm sorry. I can't stand with a party that hates me because of my skin color and gender. Do you think I'm being dramatic? Do you think I'm just crazy or making stuff up? If you dont believe me, just pretend to be a white guy on social media and disagree with a liberal. Just see how tolerant and nice they are. They won't be able to hide their hatred for you. Just earlier today, I saw a post on facebook about discrimination against men in college. I posted about the fact that women and minorities have more scholarship opportunities than white men. I wasn't rude and I wasn't mean. I just stated facts. I got incredibly hateful responses and had my character and intelligence questioned. That is how it is with most liberals today. Facts dont matter. Freedom of speech is irrelevant to them. If you aren't in lockstep agreement with them you are evil and deserve to be attacked. They preach tolerance, but they are far from tolerant toward people who dont share their worldview. IP: Logged |

You mentioned Liberals. Don't mistake Marxist Communist Socialist Progressives for Liberals. The aforementioned leftist loons have stolen the name and mantel of Liberals and without a peep of protest from actual Liberals. I never said white men are poor or downtrodden. I actually said we (white men) aren't allowed to have an opinion without hatred being spewed at us. They don't know that I always make good grades and finish semesters with a 4.0 GPA more often than not. Imagine if someone told a woman or person of color that they are just angry and jealous because they are too stupid or not talented enough if they complained about some form of discrimination? There would be outrage. But it is perfectly acceptable to be rude and dissmissive, or even downright nasty, toward white men. After all, it isn't possible to be racist or sexist toward white men. And I understand that Trump's administration is investigating complaints about Title IX being discriminatory toward men.That is just one of the reasons I am starting to warm up toward him. I also like the fact that he never apologizes to those people. It doesn't do any good anyway. They don't want healing. They don't want equality. They want new grievances to be outraged about. It's good to see you waking up, my friend. Some of my best friends and family members are liberals. You can be a liberal and not be a vicious, irrational, far left nut job like the extreme arm of the Dem party has become. They hate just for the sake of hating. They can't be reasoned with. President Trump's daughter, Ivanka, is a Democrat. I think of her as Trump's heart. She keeps him grounded. While I do not expect you to switch parties, I am glad to know that you are seeing President Trump as he truly is and his accomplishments as they truly are and not as how the media vilifies him. I am a journalism major and I agree with Trump that the news is often dishonest.
The case with the kids in Washington DC is a good example of this. They used the word "smirk" to describe his facial expression. That implies condescension and disrespect.The problem with that word is we can't know for certain what Sandman was feeling. Only he knows that. Yet, the media used that subtle word to shape public opinion.
It makes me sad that so many people distrust the media, but they have their reasons. I notice that people have the impression that reporters are indoctrinated and taught to be dishonest in college. I dont know about other schools, but we are taught to report the facts without letting our own opinions and biases get in the way. There is a strong emphasis on ethics. I am not sure where the problem starts. My best guess is some of the major media companies encourage this stuff.IP: Logged |

I agree. The media used to report facts. They used to investigate. They were journalists and not partisan hacks who thought it was their job to tell the masses what to think. The Tuskegee experiments went on for 40 years until one journalist did some true investigative journalism and broke the story. Go forth and help make the change that we so desperately need. What do you mean I got a good swipe at women? When I used to post about women, I was young and immature. However, a lot of what I said had truth to it. Young women are pretty mean to men. And in that discussion I mentioned in the op about scholarships, I had someone label me an incel. A word that came into common use after the Toronto van attack. So now any man who has an unpopular opinion is just a bitter and angry guy who cant get laid. Great way to dehumanize and write someone off. I'll be honest. That was true a few years ago. However, the fact that I was frustrated about my lack of success with women didn't make my points any less valid. It doesnt mean I was any less of a person. I hope my ramblings will get people to ponder about the different ways people treat men and women. I dont want to call Teasel out, but she is a good example of how people act. Wrong. We want healing, and don't understand why the right is giving so much support to this hateful lunatic in the white house - unless they feel the same way as he does. They talk about hollywood being against women, because it suits their agenda. When it comes to the numerous accusations against rump, they're all false, and he's the best. Do you see what I'm getting at?Democrats are currently dragging Diane Feinstein on social media, and Republicans are loving her tonight. The difference between the two parties is just that: the Democrats deal with the problem people. The "right" do that with people they don't like, they haven't just isolated him as one person to hate. You have your blinkers on. This isn't a leftist problem. It's on ALL sides. Those in the middle, or who consider themselves to be on the outside, too. You called us out on the left, for participating in "the victim olympics" in a long post that has you sounding like a victim. I can commiserate you with on ****** hands that are dealt. Men haven't been the nicest to me, either. Some women haven't. Ramdall has called me a whiner before. I could call him an arsehole, I don't remember if I did - but I could, because he was one. I don't blame him for my getting strangled. I would blame him if he thought I should just get over it, that my almost being murdered as a child, wasn't a big deal. Violence against women is a huge deal. So many women are murdered, and what do some of you do? You just come out with #notallmen, and hate on women if we're the tiniest bit wary of you, and set boundaries. I've been beaten up and harassed, over a man who sexually harassed me, all because my sister married him. Have I earned any right to complain?
