Mr. Obama spoke to Democrat donors on Friday and became the latest voice to suggest that a course correction is necessary to prevent the clown car from going off the edge of a cliff next November.

Obama is a winner, and knows how to win. The entire White Conservative Establishment, the entire might of Christian Evangelism, the Federalist Society, Koch Brothers wealth and KKK Alt Right mobilization could not unseat the brother in two attempts.
One speech from him and he makes the most erudite White scholar from the GOP look like an 8th Grade failure. So if this winner is giving advice to the Dems, they better pay heed. Uncontrolled Socialism will not help America. America wins with more Middle Class Entrepreneurs creating wealth. I agree that Obama is definitely a winner and the fact that a black person got elected president in a country with our electoral college system, and the amount of voting power attributed to the more conservative/less person f color friendly stats is still amazing.I'm not sure if it speaks to his amazingnes or other facotrs, but I still feel stunned at times given how much institutional barriers there are that America could elect a black person president. The current tide does in some ways represent a reaction to obama and the idea that an "uppity black person" is better than a white person, which frankly hes better than most of us. IP: Logged |

I don't see anyone on the democratic side who is a strong contender enough to beat Trump. No one generating any real excitement. The dems will ask people to vote based on hate and fear of Trump, not on love for their candidate. Same scenario that happened in 2016 when Hillary was the Dem choice. I have noticed that this strategy does not work well in US elections. Incidentally, I am pretty sure if Obama were to run again right now, he would beat Trump. Why? Because no matter what you think about Obama, many people voted for him because they actually LIKED him. IP: Logged |
