Corbyn Will Not Stand as Leader at Next Election After Crushing Defeat

Socialist leader of the Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn has said that he will not be leading the party in the next election but has ruled out resigning immediately.

Speaking from his Islington constituency in the early hours of Friday morning, Mr Corbyn said: “I will not lead the party in any future general election campaign.

“I will discuss with our party to ensure there is a process now of reflection on this result and on the policies that the party will take going forward.

“And I will lead the party during that period to ensure that discussion takes place and we move on into the future.”

The Tories had broken down the so-called “Red Wall”, taking a high number of traditional Labour voters in the industrial heartlands and other working-class regions that voted leave, largely due to Corbyn’s abandonment of Brexit.

At time of reporting (5 am), with over 500 of 650 constituencies declared, Labour had lost 54 seats, six to the SNP and 48 to the Conservatives with some seats going from Labour Red to Tory Blue for the first time in a century, such as Newcastle-under-Lyme. The Tories have taken solid Labour seats from Blyth Valley in Northumberland to Wrexham in North Wales.

Labour MP and Remainer Hillary Benn, son of Brexiteer and party grandee Tony Benn, told Sky News in response to the losses: “It looks like we’re heading towards the lowest number of Labour MPS since 1935 — that’s more than 80 years ago. We have failed to win the people’s trust and confidence.”........

His vision attracted droves of young supporters, celebrity backing and the endorsement of other figures of the global socialist movement, with high-profile US congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sending a supportive tweet on polling day.

But the wider public failed to warm to him, a situation made worse by his refusal to take a position on Brexit and accusations of anti-Semitism and sympathizing with terrorists........

Corbyn may be a hard sell but they seem to have lost on immigration and brex.

The party built by, and ostensibly for, the white working class has abandoned the white working class. (Dems in the US did the same) Not to say that they shouldnt. The white working class is dwindling in number (power) so the move is necessary but Labour moved too far too fast.

70 years isn't so very long ago in the overall scheme of things. Their motto is.."Never Again". I think they mean it.

Imagine having the President of the United States going to bat for you at every step, even over his own citizens, then whinging youre "beseiged by enemies." Lol I think they call that chutzpah?

If their "Never Again" motto (threat) applied to everyone, great. It doesnt it applies only to the Chosen Ones, and at your and my expense. I dont begrudge them their self advocacy. I dont begrudge anyone this. Fight for your people, your culture, your cause - absolutely. The problem lies in Jewish advocacy infringing on my people culture and cause. Their fight is not a defensive one. Politically, collectively, they are aggressive and destructive. I dont care what they do in the ME. They can wipe Palestine off the map tomorrow if it suits their self interest. Whatever. I care what they do in western countries. And what they do here runs counter to our self interest, to our health and prosperity. Globalism for me/ nationalism for them? .... no thanks.
