The taxes already paid isnt enough to keep those safety nets afloat so where will the new funds for new freebes come from? If Bernie knows, he isn't saying and that is for a good reason.
At the same time, there are people paying huge amounts to insurance companies that do their damnedest to not pay the bills, once the need comes along. Dad told me that he didn't get insurance for me, because the monthly cost bumped up by several hundred dollars, and there was also a minimum amount that they expected you to pay, before the insurance company did their job - something like $6000 would be required from us first. We can't afford that. In England, it seems like the Tories have massively screwed up the NHS, which is what I grew up with. IP: Logged |

I understand that sentiment Randall, but democracy is what the Democratic Party represents in politics. And this conversation is a “Democrat” topic. IP: Logged |

Why do people keep getting this wrong? The US Constitution guarantees to every state a REPUBLICAN FORM OF GOVERNMENT. Guarantee of Republican Form of Government SECTION 4. The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence. http://law.justia.com/constitution/us/article-4/21-guarantee-of-republican-form-of-government.html Therefore, the United States is a REPUBLIC, not a democracy.

How will these "benefits" be funded??? That't the answer I seek... not a definition of democracy. http://www.businessinsider.com/american-billionaires-paid-less-taxes -than-working-class-wealth-gap-2019-10 Average working class American pays 28% in taxes. American Billionaires pay 23%: If we all paid equal taxes, we'd by default have more funds as a country. Whats 5% of a billion, per billion? The math: for every 1 billion taxed by the current standard paid for by the average American tax-payer---50 million dollars is saved per billion for them yearly. As hard-working Americans they deserve the break I suppose, because of all those extra hours they put into their work week. Let the rest of America cover for them.. these 2,000 people need the help. So lets do more non-hypothetical math. Billionaires are not paying the same as working class people. in 2017. 2,043 billionares. Combined wealth is $7.71 trillion 7.71 trillion dollars of unequal taxes? If we all have equal taxes: 7.71 trillion x the 5% difference = 385 billion US dollars from equal-taxes-paid added to the US economy

In theory, yes!! Do you think this is going to happen under bernie? If so, what's your basis for believing it. ------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

I believe Americans (300 million people) are not stupid enough to kill themself to save 2,000 individuals some hundred billion dollars worth of pocket change. Not for long at least Equal taxes is not asking a lot. Americans can decide whatever they want to do with it after the fact IP: Logged |

No, it's not. But... To "believe" this is going to happen under Bernie, based on a capitalist country, is idealism and idealism don't feed the bulldog.. ------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

The United States is a REPUBLIC, not a democracy. The democrat party is one of several political parties in the US...having nothing whatsoever to do with the form of the US government. When the Constitution talks about a REPUBLICAN FORM OF GOVERNMENT it's not talking about the Republican party. The Democratic Party was solidified in American politics with the election of Andrew Jackson in 1829. The Republican Party came along with the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860. The REPUBLIC OF THE UNITED STATES pre-dates them both. IP: Logged |

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Klobs and booty have dropped out leaving Biden and bernie and Bloomberg.
Bloomberg May serve as a foil that aids bernie at this point. Warren is still in but she seems to be less popular than bernie and thus siphoning off less votes. I predict Berne will come out on top tomorrow taking Texas and California.
I’m going to offer another prediction I think bernie will take Texas in November

Wait, are you sure tomorrow is the day? I have it on good authority that it's Thursday! Crowd laughs as Biden says tomorrow is ‘Super Thursday’ March 2, 2020 Olaf Ekberg http://www.theamericanmirror.com/crowd-laughs-as-biden-says-tomorrow-is-super-thursday/ Bernie The Commie has no chance of winning Texas in November. Try telling Texans you intend to take their healthcare, take their guns, outlaw oil and natural gas, throw open the Southern border to anyone who walks across, give illegal aliens free healthcare, free college, free housing and full welfare benefits and let felons in prison vote in elections and more likely, Bernie The Commie will be run out of Texas, tarred and feathered on a rail. Embarrassing in the extreme that a US Senator for 30+ years can't remember the opening sentence of the Declaration Of Independence. Joe Biden Badly Bungles Declaration of Independence Quote in Stump Speech Charlie Spiering 2 Mar 2020 Former Vice President Joe Biden on Monday botched a quote from the Declaration of Independence during a speech in Texas. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, all men and women are created by, go, you know, you know the thing,” he said, struggling to remember the words of the famous clause from the Declaration of Independence........... http://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/03/02/joe-biden-badly-bungles-declaration-of-independence-quote-in-stump-speech/

Handing over every future presidential election to the modern urbanist has got to be the most disastrous idea since we willingly opened the borders. Two major events are going to happen, and soon. The Boomers are going to die out and take their votes with them, and the electoral college is going to be tossed. Game over.IP: Logged |
