mirage and juniperb, you both expressed doubts about Sanders electability, if I am correct.

Here is a short video by Robert Reich made before Super Tuesday that is actually still relevant today and may clear up the ambiguities eventually

I couldn’t find the transcript juniperb, I hope your internet works fine

Frankly I’m more concerned about Biden’s electability given that he doesn’t seem to know what office he’s running for.

Bernie will get my primary vote, but Biden will probably win Ohio.

I've become so rude to the robo callers for Sanders vote . Primary is Tuesday here and I'm getting a dozen or so calls daily.

Finally, I started simply telling them I embrace socialism as much as they embrace hemorroids and hang up.

How do you handle these calls?

I haven’t been getting many calls. My iPhone has the ability to keep it from ringing, if the number isn’t in my contacts, so I can now keep the ringer on more often.

Good video, Pire. Thanks.

Democratic Socialism
I agree that there is a LOT of hysteria spun around the PROPAGANDA (lies) out there (by folks with a certain-party's agenda), to confuse what DEMOCRATIC-socialism is.

(Social Security, being nanny-state, juni??).
That was started at the beginning of the earliest 1900s, to fund "poor houses" and, the indigent around those.
-- For Needy-Aged, the Blind,
and for dependent Children.
At first, these programs were dispensed by state. "However, the great depression shocked the Nation into a realization that only the Federal government could cope with this National catastrophe"

Democratic Socialism serves ALL THE PEOPLE (non-partisan), and protects against national poverty and destitution.

This era revisits the astrology once again, OF that SAME ERA. "Saturn in late Capricorn, then running through Aquarius."
(look up the dates-- so eerie ..)

*~

For me, it's not Bernie's "elect-ability" nor his bold endeavor --

It's vid "Reason #6 -- Congress"!
After election, he would need an ability to work with teaparty~senators, IF not-enough senate seats were flipped-- (worst case scenario).

The Republican party was made weak by current admin and his followers. Seems that senators defected from their original-Republican party, out of fear? … to obey the split-off teaparty loyalists.

Would the Republicans be able to fight for their existence 'as original was', right now?
I really hope the original-R's can have resuscitation. Those might find Biden's approach more palatable. HOPEFULLY, these parties will see the Light when it comes to our need for fortifying the country's people with safety-nets {FDR}. Looks like things are crumbling right now-- except for the 1% that this admin caters to, and profit *their OWN wallets* from.

We, as the UNITED States, are supposed to be a TWO party system. It works best with cooperative balance between BOTH. Capitalists + safety nets for when it doesn't work 'for ALL' -- which happens sometimes unpredictably. And, yes Governors run their States, UNDER the over-arching GOOD of the coordination of this WHOLE Country (Feds).

MIRACLE? We would need Bernie supporters to exert their prodigious youthful influence--- to FLIP some Senate seats. That would go far in bringing Balance. His ideas need to be studied and approved.

Passing bills back and forth between BOTH the House and the Senate are what polishes and refines the laws we make. Congress is a tool for working-out the BEST of the best ideas and plans. Making it work for ALL. 3 Co-Equal branches of govt. That's WHAT they are there for, and the way a democratic republic works.

I'm sure that the Democrats would SUPPORT Bernie IF he were elected. And because he is not a 'King', he would have to have his ideas approved by Congress.

Environmentally-- we don't have the ability to take another term of other admin policies. Poisoning everything. Thinking ONLY of the money that can be made for 'a few'.

I believe that IF Biden wins, he WILL HELP institute some of these thoughts that Bernie (and Eliz Warren, and others) had brought forward. HE sees what the *youth* wants. I'm positive, really positive, that Biden will take-in ALL of what *that* Beautiful generation has to say, what they 'offer'.

Some of the things that Sanders is saying about Biden are kind of taken out of context.

VOTES go 'through' based on Compromise in our form of govt. They compromise the BEST they can, as pieces of laws come "wrapped" as a package. They have to choose the better part-- and if not to our liking, it comes around again in a few years' time.

Inch by inch. You HAVE to work with the other members of same-group IN COOPERATION WITH the other differing party-views.

I think Biden is the Nominee.
Conspiracy theorists think Biden will step back at last moment and pave the way for Hillary and AOC combine, but that is just far fetched.

Biden will cream Trump in November.

Blacks and white swing voters are coming out in droves for Biden. The people have had a taste of instability and they don't want it.

The young and the left will get on board with Biden after a period of whining and licking their paws.

Trumps only option is to try and declare martial law and postpone the election.

Mirage, i have strong memories of my scottish great grandmother railing about social security and she would rather be in "The poorhouse" than take goverment hand outs.a feisty independent old bird.

I dont feel that way and pay ss taxes with no complaint. It was originally designed for the elderly and they often need the financial protection.

I do have issues with the use of it for bad backs, arthritis and such complaints.

IF Warren is throwing her support to bernie, nows the time. Thats the only way his bacon will be saved.

The powers that be will "encourage" her to endorse Biden tho.

Your compassion and empathy knows no bounds.

In the meantime, you plan to bring us more of the rude, racist, sexist, unstable imbecile who lies all the time.

Rude? Perhaps. I like rudeness in a President. But the rest is in your mind. You fail to present any evidence that President Trump is racist or sexist. Biden, however, is likely senile and will get worse over time.

Well mirage, that was a thoughtful post you wrote, many ideas.

For a start, I want to remind everyone that I know my place as a foreigner and I do not intend to do anything else here than sharing my (french AND personal) perspective. Your country, your election, your president.
Having said that, I disagree with your view, if I got it right, that Sanders wouldn't be as good as Biden to work across parties lines. Disagreements are sometimes necessary over some issues, if we believe in them. And it is not always the same side that has to give in.
In France, when Macron got elected 😔 He had no party but he managed to create a movement for the parliament election just after he was elected. I suppose what happened for Trump and Macron will also work for Sanders.
I also hear a lot that Trump is the candidate of the wealthy but he managed to eliminate all other republican candidates during the republican primary because he appealed to the masses, not the elite.
Macron played it the same here, a man against an established system, on his own. Who between Sanders and Biden gives that vibe ?
I think if Biden is the nominee the democrat will loose again to Trump. He still has a large support group, and I don't quite get why Biden is seen as such a sweetheart by the Americans. There must be something that I miss being foreigner. But Trump is not tied by moral issues, he will fight any way he sees, while Biden will be trying to be morally above Trump while really being only a second choice for everyone who votes for him.
Sanders has the power of fanatics. He will fight tooth and nails because he believes in his proposals, hence why his followers follow him. And when facing a nasty Trump who uses every ways to dominate, only a decided, convinced politician with a vision can persuade some of Trump's voter to rally him. Remember the Fox News town hall ? See Biden there ?
Last thing, now we've seen Trump in office 4 years, nobody is scared anymore, abroad the other nations got the idea of the new place the US want to play, and it started with Obama red line over Syria that weren't implemented. The world got that they must do without the US interventionism. Trump is not anyone else problem, I mean they don't care that much after all, so 4 more years won't be dramatic. The democrats want to get rid of him but why? If it is only to go back to old school then really I doubt it is enough, I think there needs to be a vision. And the thing that works nowadays is a man (or woman) that plays the outsider card, not the one endorsed by every powerful people on the map.
My 2 cents

Biden is the chosen one, Bernie's purpose for staying in is to try to push Biden's agenda left, which hes already had success at.

During the republican primary, I think it was Bush who was "chosen" by the mainstream, party, elite, whatever you name it, and Trump appeal, I think, was partly because he was an outsider seen as a way to disrupt the status quo

This time, chosen by the voters.

They have spoken and they want stability.

People remember the period of stability during the Obama presidency and they want to return to that, they feel Biden can give that.

With saturn moving into aquarius for the first time since the mid 90s we are now TRULY in the age of aquarius.

I expect the next 2.5 years to really give a STRONG dose of what aquarian energy feels like.

Especially with saturn in aquarius setting up a tense square with uranus in taurus, and mars and jupiter about to roll over that aspect..

We're seeing all the aquarian elements at play: information and disinformation, the group vs the individual, togetherness vs isolation, group organization, science and facts vs belief and conspiracy....

It would be fascinating if it weren't so scary..
