The city of Atwater in California is now a sanctuary city...for businesses who want to open up in violation of the governor's orders.

What happens? Home guards called? Is it legal for cities to do that?

I’m curious what happens, too. Surely they won’t make them comply by force. I imagine they’d just have to pay fines.

California has sanctuary cities for illegal aliens, people who shoot up drugs, and who knows what else. The police and sheriff departments have agreed not to enforce the state orders. The only thing the state can do is pull state licenses—such as with liquor sales and hair stylists.

So the police will let this kind of thing fly?

quote:

A man denied service for not wearing a mask assaulted convenience store clerk in northern Indiana, police said.

The assault occurred Wednesday morning at a 7-Eleven in Mishawaka, 5 miles east of South Bend, police said.

The man entered the store without wearing a mask and attempted to buy a cup of coffee. When he was told he could not be served because he was not wearing a mask, the man threw the cup of coffee on the female clerk and left, police said.

He then returned and was asked to leave by the clerk but instead punched her, knocking her to the floor, and proceeded to further punch and kick the clerk before leaving, police said.

The store has signs telling customers that masks must be worn because of St. Joseph County Health Department and federal guidelines, police said.

Police did not say whether the clerk was injured.

I would love to live in such towns -- no limits or strings. Drugs available to alter your consciousness too

And Ohio has done the opposite:
http://www.dispatch.com/news/20200520/ohio-senate-unanimously-votes-down-house-proposal-to-slash-dr-amy-actonrsquos-authority?rssfeed=true&utm_campaign=snd-autopilot

Some wanted Amy Acton's authority to be limited. The Senate unanimously voted against that.

quote:
Republicans who voted against the amendments to Senate Bill 1 fell into two camps: Those who supported the idea in theory but thought the House made mistakes during drafting, and those who disagreed with the bill’s premise. Sen. Peggy Lehner, a former president of Ohio Right to Life, was among the latter.

“I hear an argument that is just really confusing me, and it’s that personal liberty should be put ahead of life. For years, I and many of the sponsors of Senate Bill 1 ... have said we must put life first over and above personal liberties of any kind. Suddenly, that argument has gone out the window,” she said.

“I don’t get it. I can’t support it. And I am going to continue to put life above all of those other issues that have been talked about today.”

Lehner was one of seven Republican senators who wore a mask, and she chastised her colleagues for having the “arrogance” to assume they know what should be done to protect people during a pandemic “without talking to epidemiologists, medical professionals and people who do this for a living.”

If I owned a business in one of these tyrants' states--such as Commifornia--I wouldn't allow anyone in my store who wears a mask.

Operation Haircut at Michigan Capitol
Kyle Olson
20 May 2020

Barbers and haircutters are on the Michigan capitol lawn on Wednesday as residents call for the state to be reopened.

The Michigan Conservative Coalition organized the protest, dubbed, Operation Haircut, from noon to 3:00 p.m. in downtown Lansing.

Citizens are tired of being treated like babies, Meshawn Maddock, MCC co-founder, said.

Citizens are fed up. Join us in Lansing on May 20. Get a free haircut. Then, importantly, let's get Michigan back to work, before it is too late.

Operation Haircut is designed to demonstrate the insanity still rampant in Lansing, MCC co-founder Marian Sheridan.

Free haircuts, when they desperately need money? They were fined $1000 each, apparently. Oh, and the self-responsibility crowd were talking about a gofundme to pay their fines.
