May 20, 2020 Michigan: Gretchen Whitmer seeds the nursing homes with COVID-19 Monica ShowalterIn light of the nursing home disaster in New York, what kind of a ghoul would take that as an example to emulate instead of a baleful death warning to avoid, and then order contagious COVID-19 patients into her state's nursing homes? Only Michigan's hard-faced Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, the ambitious Democrat who banned sales of garden seeds to Michiganders, saying she's doing it in the name of keeping everyone "safe." "Safe" to Whitmer is seeding the nursing homes with COVID-19 patients, supposedly as a means of lightening the loads of hospitals. Too bad if Granny gets it. Under Whitmer's executive order, which she just extended yesterday for a week, any nursing home with less than 80% capacity will be forced to create special COVID units, regardless of their ability to protect their other patients, with the special ventilation systems, trained staff, and personal protective gear something like that would require even if it were advisable, and none of which is included in her order. If I were a nursing home, I'd be offering free places to anyone who wants one just to prevent a breach below that deadly 80-percent threshold. Even New York's Andrew Cuomo could see the disaster of that outrageous and deadly policy. Nursing home deaths in New York are sky-high at more than 5,000 deaths, and since the outrageous order was exposed as his own administration's doing, he's backtracked, blaming everyone but himself. Yet Whitmer, by contrast, viewed Cuomo's bad maneuver as a "how-to" guide. There will be deaths with even this one-week extension, and the blood will be on her hands. It's as if she wants them all dead. Easier to harvest their ballots when they're dead come election day, is one thought that springs to mind. Or maybe she's attempting to goose the death count numbers, the better to claim federal funds. Or possibly the opposite. The nursing home figures are muddled and non-transparent, something that leads many observers to think the death toll numbers are far higher than the official count. Hospital figures, by contrast, are more clearly counted and reported. Or maybe she wants to clear out the nursing homes of patients, the better to cut down on the Medicaid expenses to the state. None of these potential calculi has a scintilla of morality to it; every last one is utterly vile in intention. Yet here she goes, and now Joe Biden has been holding "preliminary" talks with her to make her his vice presidential running mate. On top of old people's bodies. I have a stake in this personally. My elderly aunt is in one of these Michigan nursing homes............. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/05/michigan_gretchen_whitmer_seeds_the_nursing_homes_with_covid19.html

What kind of ghoul thinks it’s okay for people to crowd together, when they’ve been asked to avoid doing so, in favour of the economy? Oh, right: you do. I do think it's stupid to send people back to nursing homes, if they are proving to be deadly. I hope your aunt will be okay. I have older members of the family who are very sick - more than one is fighting cancer right now (one for the third time). My aunt in England, just had her last chemo treatment for the bladder cancer that killed her sister/my aunt on November 30th 2015. It's all worrying, and it sucks. IP: Logged |

What kind of ghoul thinks it's ok to send covid-19 positive people into nursing homes to kill the most vulnerable there? Governor 'Garden Seed' does...and she did. To your other point. States that have opened up their economies ARE NOT experiencing rising covid-19 cases. They're declining. Governor Whitless is just one of the little control freak Nazis. One who thinks her chances of being picked as Sleepy, Creepy Joe's VP pick is enhanced by trying to kill the US economy. IP: Logged |

Oh, you're welcome for my trying to be a human being to you for five minutes. Thank you for the well-wishes for my own family. The numbers have been doctored. A woman was fired for not doing that in Florida. But you will believe anything that trump puts out. IP: Logged |

Thank you. I'm sorry I misread. Nobody seems to understand (nobody on "the other side"), that I'm not concerned about them (family members) being careful, I'm concerned about people being careful *around them*. My aunt hated isolation as much as everyone else, and it was stricter in England. My aunt here in Ohio, battling cancer for the third time, this time in her brain - dad just told me that it's spread. ""I believe that this reckless and negligent policy, which was instituted despite the written opposition of the Health Care Association of Michigan, has resulted in the illness and death of many of Michigan’s elderly and infirm residents, who otherwise would have been (protected) from exposure to the COVID-19 virus," he said."Glad to see Whitless has come to her senses...if that's the reason she rescinded her order. More likely, Whitless has been taking major league heat...like Cuomo of NY and Murphy of New Jersey. We know more than 5000 nursing home patients have died in New York alone. I wonder how many died in Michigan. IP: Logged |

Could not buy seeds. Lie Conventional way no but tell the runner what you want and seeds in hand , bought and out the door . Simple, seeds were for sale and purchasable. I bought mine that way. Annuals and veggies Michiganders are innovative and resourceful. But, so are the biased lie spreaders. But, sure sounds fun to say they weren't tho. ------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

Michigan Governor Deems Gardening Supplies — Including Fruit And Vegetable Seeds — ‘Non-Essential’ Virginia Kruta Associate Editor April 11, 2020 Michigan Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s latest executive order deems a number of home-improvement and gardening items — including fruit and vegetable seeds — “non-essential.” In addition to enforcing social distancing measures and limiting the number of people in the stores that were allowed to remain open — in order to slow the spread of coronavirus — Whitmer’s April 9 order also gave explicit instructions with regard to items that could not be sold as they were considered “non-essential.” “Close areas of the store—by cordoning them off, placing signs in aisles, posting prominent signs, removing goods from shelves, or other appropriate means—that are dedicated to the following classes of goods:” •Carpet or flooring. •Furniture. •Garden centers and plant nurseries. •Paint. The restriction on gardening supplies struck a nerve, which came just as the weather was beginning to warm to the proper temperatures for most early planting. (RELATED: Gretchen Whitmer Trolls Trump With ‘That Woman From Michigan’ Shirt) “I didn’t believe this at first, but Whitmer’s order does indeed require stores to shut down their gardening and planting sections. https://t.co/aV7AOigtQp” “— Ben Domenech (@bdomenech) April 10, 2020” Republican Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey pointed out that Michiganders could still legally buy marijuana while they were effectively being barred from planting home gardens. “In Michigan today you can buy weed but not seeds,” he said. “In Michigan today you can buy weed but not seeds. https://t.co/XXfPiYvLfl” “— Sen. I wish the Gov would have just kept on copying and pasting Ohio’s orders would have provided a lot more clarity and buy in from the business community & the public. In addition to banning all public gatherings of any size, the new order — which took effect Saturday — barred residents from traveling between homes even if they owned both properties. The Michigan governor is reportedly on former Vice President Joe Biden’s short list to be tapped as his vice presidential nominee. http://dailycaller.com/2020/04/11/gretchen-whitmer-gardening-seeds-non-essential/ IP: Logged |

Again, they were bought and sold . Theres always a way and big business will found it. The article was off with planting times for the north too. Most plants are not planted in April. Last frost is May 31. I live it, you read about it. Give me one article without a crapload of bias twisting the content. ------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

Governor Whitmer Signs Executive Order Enhancing, Expanding Protections for Residents and Employees of Long-Term Care Facilities FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEMay 20, 2020 Contact: press@michigan.gov Governor Whitmer Signs Executive Order Enhancing, Expanding Protections for Residents and Employees of Long-Term Care Facilities LANSING, Mich. — Governor Gretchen Whitmer today signed Executive Order 2020-95, which extends and further enhances protections for the health and safety of residents and employees of long-term care facilities. The order expands on protections provided in Executive Order 2020-50 and provides clear procedures for facilities and hospitals to follow when residents test positive for or experience symptoms of COVID-19. The order takes effect immediately and continues through June 17. “It’s critical that employees at long-term care facilities have access to the resources they need so they can properly care for our loved ones, and that COVID-19-positive residents have a safe place to recover while isolating from other residents,” Governor Whitmer said. “These employees put their lives on the line every day to care for our most vulnerable residents, and we owe it them to do whatever we can to ensure their safety and the safety of the people they care for.” Executive Order 2020-95 provides for a holistic decision-making process so that COVID-19-affected residents will only be discharged from a hospital to a facility that is capable of safely isolating the resident. In doing so, the order requires all hospital discharges be made consistent with current CDC and DHHS guidance. To ensure residents and employees are receiving the protections it affords, Executive Order 2020-95 authorizes the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) to take actions necessary to assure the proper level of care and services in connection with this order. “The COVID-19 pandemic poses a particularly dire threat to the health and safety of residents and employees of long-term care facilities,” said Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, Chief Medical Executive and Chief Deputy Director for Health at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. “This Executive Order will ensure residents of long-term care facilities. "Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ORDERED nursing homes to accept COVID-positive patients. According to local media, the state is paying these homes $5,000 per COVID-19 positive case they take. Despite the financial incentive, the order is unpopular and downright dangerous. Even Michigan Democrats recognize it."“They said the population that would be most affected was our seniors so to not outfit those facilities to handle the very population they said would need it seems ridiculous to me,” Detroit State Rep. Comrade Whitmer Extends Stay-Home Order to June 12th – Michigan Now Focused on Eliminating Non-Existent “Second Wave”… May 22, 2020 sundance Well this is an interesting development. The goal of the lockdown to “flatten the curve” in Michigan has now morphed into eliminating a mysterious second-wave of the COVID-19 virus that no-one has actually identified. The rules are now justified to prevent the appearance of a ghost virus. With a mysterious and invisible new-phase of the virus to battle, the Michigan stay home lock-down can possibly be extended to infinity. According to the Detroit Free Press: [Whitmer] said while coronavirus cases and deaths are clearly declining, “we are not out of the woods yet.” “If we’re going to lower the chance of a second wave and continue to protect our neighbors and loved ones from the spread of this virus, we must continue to do our part by staying safer at home,” she said in a statement first reported by the Free Press. See what Comrade Whitmer is doing there? The objective that grants her unilateral control over the lives of all citizens, has morphed to “lowering the chance of a second wave” as the hot new justification legalizing her totalitarian dictates. Slick move.......... http://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/05/22/comrade-whitmer-extends-stay-home-order-to-june-12th-michigan-now-focused-on-eliminating-non-existent-second-wave/#more-192504
