I heard about this. The media is painting the folks who were there legally and exercising their rights as “villains”, while upholding the folks there with the clear intent to break the law as victims. They also added a slanted history lesson about the statue’s subject to make readers sympathetic to the mob.Police were standing down and weren’t intending to stop the mob from tearing down public property. Local law says open carry is legal, and a group gathered to defend the statue. After an altercation, one of the armed men ran away, and as he fled, the mob then chased him down and threatened to kill him. He then shot his gun in self-defense. We all know he’ll continue being reported as fascist and a right-wing extremist instead of a law-abiding citizen forced to do the job the police refuse to. IP: Logged |

Antifa and BLM have been calling for an advancement into the white suburbs for awhile. It makes sense I suppose from an ideological standpoint but they are probably overreaching. They dont have the numbers to make a significant impact on suburban sprawl
Theyll have better luck on the coasts than flyover. There will be a lot of Bethels. The past few months there has been talk of moving into rural areas. The police presence being not so overwhelming there as it is in the suburbs where property is king. They are actually discussing vandalizing farms. lol. If I were them I would rather engage a suburban cop then a pisssed off farmer with a shotgun. I mean I personally have never enjoyed being on Juni's bad side. Good luck to them. IP: Logged |

I have a running theory that 99% of our current problems are rooted in over educated mostly white millennials lacking any real social connections (the social media substitute) or social investment (family, meaningful work). I didnt see this but .... I've caught Carlson a few times over the past 6 months or so and I'm agreeing with him more often than I expected to, or tbh more than I'm entirely comfortable with. I dont know if he"s changed since his Crossfire days or I have.

Rural folks or anarchist's think they are immune? Speaking as a rural bumpkin, we dont think they (rural) are immune. They know they are prepared for that fox in the henhouse. Or many fox as the neighbors henhouse is as important as our own. So, that independant/ interconnected society knows that around that bend,many are prepared. That aside, I dont think the militia would appreciate crafty vulpines in their barnyard either. . ------------------

I really hope they wouldn’t be shooting protesters. First amendment rights, and all that. We have a friend who stayed with us for two weeks, years ago. She’s black, and it never occurred to me that she would feel weird in our neighbourhood. I felt so bad when mum told me that she was afraid of showing up before dark. We have no statues to tear down, but I do wonder why some people want to celebrate racists who wanted to keep slavery going. I’m in favour of those statues going. Just like the one that was taken down in Bristol, and thrown into the water. They updated its location on google maps, too.

Teasel, its not protesters tearing down statues and threatening violence in suburbs or rural areas. They are criminals.
Criminals that need stopped immediate ly. The don wont lift a finger so why shouldnt good tax paying, law abiding folks protect what they have earned??

2 people were shot last night in Insurrection Land. Police were blocked from getting in. Ambulance was blocked from getting to the victims. Victims were driven to hospital by insurrectionists.
