PhoenixRising, I know what you meant. To clarify, it's not the counting but the timing of the receipt of the ballots that is at issue. The PA constitution, as well as the PA legislature codifying it into law, state that ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. on election day, or those ballots will not be counted. The PA supreme court extended that date by three additional days. The legal argument is that the court exceeded its authority in doing so, which is unconstitutional. Thus, the SCOTUS ordered all such ballots to be segregated. If the lower court dismisses the argument, the SCOTUS may take up the case. IP: Logged |
