They seem to think that it is a new strain of the virus which is driving transmission up again. Scotland just moved down to tier 3, but right after Christmas are going back into tier 4 to try mitigate the effects of Christmas household mixing (posting the article in a minute). Any vaccine which hasn't completed trials for a long enough period is concerning. My grandparents have decided to wait for the Oxford one rather than take the Pfizer one, but if the follow-up isn't long enough, it's still risky.

I agree with you about how important vitamin C is, vitamin D3 is also finally recognised as essential in certain areas of the world. I was deficient a few years ago and should take it daily for life, but according to my GP this applies to much of the world.

They haven't really done much about it that I can see. They think it has come from South Africa, so those who have been there have to quarantine on their return. I think the main concern is whether the vaccines will work with this strain. China has apparently identified over 200 types of coronaviruses. But yeah, the papers have a lot to answer for, haven't they always though? The war on Covid is the new 'war on terror'...

TBH, people are already fed-up over here, fatigued with the restrictions and isolation, but still, at least in my circles, following the guidance.

Yes, it is worrying. We are pretty much back to where we were during the first lockdown. That's interesting about anti-inflammatories. I remember at the start of the pandemic it was being said that it was risky to use them when infected with COVID-19
