I have read studies on masks, but I haven't seen any stating they don't work - that is your claim.

I change my mind if presented with evidence, not because I am told.

Somehow those researchers didn't understand their chosen statistical measure, misinterpreted their results and had to retract the study:

So unfortunately this study did not report that masks don't protect against viruses. But it was never going to produce anything generalisable anyway with 4 participants.

I'm surprised though (kind of), I would have thought they'd been throwing money at research just now for high quality data, but the whole thing has been politicised, which means research on the virus is also politicised. It's always about who's doing the funding. Whatever they want known, is what will be known.

In saying that, there's more than a few wealthy benefactors to research in the world, some no doubt with strong feelings about the pandemic, so hopefully it won't be too long until we see some high quality, generalisable, scientifically-sound, studies.
