Lockdowns had little positive effect. Look at Cali. All a lockdown does is delay herd immunity and cause more variants.

Lockdowns will never work without Massive Sanitization Efforts combined with 100% Compliance for at least 14 days.
After that, restricted lifting of lockdowns will ensure success.
China, New Zealand and Vietnam are examples.

Poor execution of lockdowns have hurt California and Zero Lockdowns have killed excessively in Sweden.

Lockdown has worked well in Scotland. Transmission has been driven down drastically since the turn of the year. We now have a route map out with the economy projected to open up again in April.

They work with compliance in addition to hygiene measures and vaccinations.

Has anywhere in America actually complied?

California has been the most locked down state in the U.S., destroying lives and businesses, and it has as bad or worse numbers of COVID cases as states that removed such restrictions or remained open.

Closing businesses doesn't mean that enough people complied out with use of these businesses.

It worked here, and in many other places, so it is incorrect to say that lockdowns don't work. If it didn't work, then it'll be because not enough people followed the guidelines. Maybe protests and rallies had something to do with it. I think you would be hard-pushed to find any other country in the world that had as many mass gatherings as America during lockdown. So really, America did not 'lockdown'.

You can’t lock people inside 24/7 in America. And even if you could, the virus is still there. It isn’t going away without herd immunity.
