Since October of 21, I have been
looking for a place to rent! In
New Hampshire the rental prices
have skyrocketed out of control,
I was homeless, again. A studio
apartment rents for $1400 a month,
no utilities included!
So, I sought help from Southern
NH Services, for their Covid relief
program, that did not help, I could
not find any landlords who wanted
to deal with this program. After 3
months of searching, I still had
not found anything! I begged and
pleaded, telling them about my mom's
condition and age..So, they said they
would put us up in a hotel..they could
not find any available rooms in
Manchester..on February 2nd they
found us a room, a half hour away
in Nashua. Now, this is crazy, we're
in a Homewood Suites by Hilton, the
cost for 30 days is $2452!
This program can cover you for up to
18 months, they even cover utilities!Here's the problem, the rental
prices are still going up, and the
amount of homeless people increases
daily, and now the hotels are filled
up with homeless people.
The system doesn't work! So many
people have lost their apartments,
so many people have lost their homes!
I've written to the mayor and the
governor to no avail...
The reality of this is so ridiculous! Why haven't they put a cap on rental
prices!? Anyway, this problem is growing out
of control! ..there are plenty of jobs out there,
people just don't have anywhere to
live. Did you know that New Hampshire's
minimum wage is $7.25!? Does any of this make sense?

Hi ballerina, I am really sorry to hear of your plight. It is terrible to be homeless in the middle of the winter in a cold place like New Hampshire.  It looks like on top of that, you also have your mom with you and she has some kind of health condition...? The cost of living in NH is higher than the national average. If you and your mom are subsisting on a fixed income, have you thought about relocating to another state where the cost of living is not so high and you can find apartments at a more decent price? Ggod day, Belage!We have entertained many thoughts
of relocating...my mom has to deal
with my sister's mental health
issues, and I have my daughter's
mental health issues, and need to
be on hand for my grandson. We are
all in NH.
Also, my alien card has expired,
and it's $600 to renew it! Because
of this I have not received any
stimulus payments, can't renew my
driver's license, etc.
I would love to move South, so tired
of the cold weather!
I continue to
EXPECT A MIRACLE! ..I'm trying to convince all of them
of leaving this state!
What it all comes down to is
MONEY! ------------------

Having an extended family with mental health issues can make it difficult to relocate.
I wish there was a way I could help to contribute to the money you need to renew your alien card. I am happy to donate something to a crowfunding site, as long as it's not GoFundMe because of what it did to the Truckers Convoy. There is a faith based site called GiveSendGo.com, and they do not charge fees to the donors like GoFundMe does. You might consider using it and then let us know so that those of us here in LL who wish to contribute can do so. @ Randall, I hope my proposal is not against forum rules. IP: Logged |

You have truly touched
my heart..
I have a very hard time
asking for help...
I have filled out a waiver
for my alien card twice,
the 2nd time was while I
was at the homeless shelter.
Both times they denied me!
It just doesn't make sense
to me.
People have told me I should
set up a gofundme, but I just
didn't feel right about it.
There are so many people, I'm
sure, that need help more than
I do.
I shall give it much thought!
I truly need to make something
happen!Thank you for your kindness,

You are welcome, ballerina.  I am sure I am not the only one who is willing to help. You have been with LL since 2014. ETA: If you decide to get crowdfunding and you find a reputable one, please come back with the link in this thread, and I will start a thread to ask people to contribute. address. Making it very
difficult for me to create

I can't get a P O box without
a picture ID ... I basically
can't do anything without one..
Not even a non-driver ID..... AND also P.O. Box doesn't
work, it's the same for medicaid,
food stamps, etc. It has to be
a physical address! Thank you for your suggestion,

Thank you, BelageTomorrow we are going to the Clarion
hotel, in the same town! Being half
an hour away from where we were living
is making things very difficult! ..I shall continue to EXPECT A MIRACLE...
