MTG’s personal account was banned last night. Of course, she still has her professional accounts spread conspiracy theories on.

I'm wondering why the center/center right supports AI

I don't have a problem with AI. It is part of scientific progress that cannot be stopped. The same way the advent of trains, planes and automobiles could not be stopped. Each of these scientific advances had their detractors back in the day.

I think what is important is to make sure that as science progresses, our civil liberties are always respected and upheld.

Nobody is forced to buy a car, though living in some areas, a car is necessary, and some jobs require a car. Nobody is forced to ride by train. Nobody is forced to take a flight.

AI and things like microchipping should not be forced on anyone. If people want to use these things, they should be free to do so. But to force them on others, no. The focus instead should be how do we make sure individual liberties and privacies are respected through the scientific milestones.

I disagree.
AI is part of 'transhumanism'.

"It is proper to take alarm at the first experiment on our liberties.... The freemen of America did not wait till usurped power had strengthened itself by exercise, and entangled the question in precedents. They saw all the consequences in the principle, and they avoided the consequences by denying the principle."

Ok then, my question to you is, how are you going to stop transhumanism? Can you really stop transhumanism?

In a world where people can legally inject themselves with meth, cocaine and LSD, where they can get silicon breasts and butt implants, where they can reshape their male parts into female parts, do you really think you can pass laws that forbid people from getting human enhancement techoloogy such as antenna implants in their brain that extend their perceptions beyond human senses?

Do you think you can pass laws that forbid people from cryopreserving themselves? From manipulating their genes with gene therapy?

I honestly don't believe it's possible to make these laws. What one should focus on are what kinds of regulations should be applied to these human enhancement therapies to prevent them from becoming abusive or exploitative, or discriminatory toward those who are not using them.

(Continued)

One example of transhumanism regulation:

If you have mind uploaded the content of an entire encyclopedia, then you cannot go on Jeopardy to try to win against people who have not mind uploaded information. That would be cheating.

In other words, we can't stop progress. But we can regulate it.
