Sincere question: Do you make a distinction between the left that's captured by the Democrat party and the left that doesn't have any allegiance to it? I ran into many of them in 2016 who left the Democrat party in disgust. There are some issues that this left and the populist nationalist right agree on.

Your question deserves an answer.

Many rank and file democrats have become independents or republicans since the loony left extremists have taken over the democrat party. These old line democrats don't identify in any way with the 'I hate America', 'defund the police', 'up with the criminals and down with law abiding Americans' as exemplified by Biden and far left lunatic Mayors of big cities in America.

This may be a simplification and painting with a broad brush but there's a definite divide between old line democrats and the new extremist leftist democrats.

I've only listened to half of his speech announcing his candidacy. I can understand why people are attracted to him. He obviously cares deeply about the health and well being of the people and the environment. But, the fanaticism is troubling.
