President Trump challenged the election results--just like Hillary and other Dems before him. He held a rally. He tweeted the day before for it to be peaceful. Amid some FBI chatter that troublemakers would be there, he said he would put at least 10,000 National Guard troops there. Pelosi turned it down. This is not at all to justify the actions of a small percentage of the protesters, but dozens of FBI agents were present and trying to rile them up. Doors were opened to let the protesters in, and most of them just walked through the halls and took selfies--even staying within the roped touring areas.
