No, that wouldn’t be a legal defense, but I doubt the government could prove otherwise, or else they would have deposed those persons. I think President Trump was just being theatrical when he said it was a “classified” document to whomever he waved it at. If it’s unclassified, it really doesn’t matter.

This is the indictment stage. Perhaps deposing witnesses will come later during the trial... Isn't it that the way it is done? Please as a legal head, correct me if I am wrong.

As far as DT just being "theatrical", I think that's sugarcoating it. How about having poor judgement? His lack of judgement and inability to rein in his mouth will be his theatrics will be his downfall...

Deposed simply means to testify under oath and out-of-court. This indictment was unlike any in history. Generally, indictments contain generalized information, saving the details for the trial, but this one is chock-full of intricate details, including the testimony of several “witnesses” who made statements under oath, including some of President Trump’s attorneys who were forced to do so. I don’t think the DOJ is aware of who the document was waved at or shown to. President Trump doesn’t have to rein in his mouth. We love him just the way he is. His mouth is what got him results—from NK, China, and the NATO countries. It won’t be his downfall because there will be no downfall. Making up fake crimes to try to prosecute him will be an exercise in futility.

You are underestimating the opponent, a tactical mistake. Of course they are aware! How would they even know about these incidents if someone who was present didn't tip them off? And the 6a indictment mentions that present were a writer, a publisher, and 2 members of DT's staff. Come on, they know who were present and who the document was waved at or shown to!

I am disheartened by the total lack of accountability from DT and his supporters who will never criticize DT even when he has shown poor judgement and reckless behavior. And they keep insisting that even with his juvenile behavior, he is the best man for the job???

Again, I like my leaders to be wise as serpent, to measure their words and actions, to be strategists. Not petulant personalities whose words and actions we have to constantly defend as we are facing the greatest threat to our world as we know it.

Aren't we tired of losing yet? Apparently not.

Desantis isn't going to make the cut. Constitutional republicans know Desantis is being funded by America hating Globalists. No chance MAGA, America 1st voters will vote for Desantis. The question for Desantis is....why would you let Wall Street Globalists anywhere near your campaign and expect to get nominated by voters who know your backers and funding machine hates America 1st and MAGA?

Did you not see DeSantis lose his temper and snap at that reporter? Talk about juvenile! President Trump will be the nominee. How you vote is on you. His base is sticking with him all the way. No one else can fix this country but him. Period.

50,000 supporters expected to flood into Miami, and only 20 have shown up, so far. Is Ginni Thomas bussing more in later?

Suggest you learn to count. I've seen live television coverage of Trump supporters around the Miami courthouse which number in the thousands.

Maybe it's the dumb, moronic airhead twits you choose to quote who can't count.

Jonathan Turley Criticizes DOJ’s Decision to Charge Trump Under Espionage Act
Nick Gilbertson
14 Jun 2023

George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley, in an op-ed Tuesday, was critical of both the Justice Department’s pursuit of charges against former President Donald Trump under the Espionage Act of 1917 and the act itself.

Turley’s opinion piece came in the left-wing outlet Daily Beast. While he acknowledged that images from the 49-page indictment show boxes of documents stored in a restroom at Mar-a-Lago, and noted that no one would legitimately contend that is a proper way to store such documents, he zoned in on the law’s reference to an “intent to harm” U.S. national security:...................

I didn't even mention DS in my post...

But since you mention it, are you saying that a bumbling leader who cannot be trusted to do and say the right things is a better option?

And as far as the accusations of DS being bought by Wall Street Globalists, again, look at his policies. Do his policies align with that of the Wall street globalists? and if so, which ones?

Do you have a link? What was it exactly that DS said to the reporter that makes it juvenile? Did he say something that we would have to twist ourselves into pretzels to excuse and explain - like the mental gymnastics we have to do to excuse some of what DT says?

I am genuinely confused. Are you expecting a leader to NEVER lose his temper and snaps at someone? A leader is still human, so that was not the gist of my point. My point is that a leader should measure his words and actions. Maybe I should have added "for the most part" since apparently you took it to mean 100% of the time.

I think you have become a never Trumper, which probably means you won't be voting for President Trump as the nominee. DeSantis sold his soul to the globalists. They will expect a lot from him in exchange for their funding. It's not about his policies up to this point. It's about what his policies will be going forward.

You beat me to it Randall. There's no free lunch and Desantis would be expected to toe the Globalist line after he took the Globalist money to fund his campaign.

It would have been nice of you to provide a link of DS outburst at a journalist so I can see for myself what you call juvenile...

As for me being a Never Trumper, you are incorrect. If Trump was truly the only option against the evil that has become the democratic party, I would consider voting for him. The issue is that he is not the only option, but the fanatical base will make him out to be the only option, some kind of messiah, and that is a problem.

Fanatical base? That is how this works. The party will decide which option gets the nomination. No one thinks President Trump is a messiah. But he is the only viable option. Period. Anyone else will fall short of what this country needs at this time. And just for the record, I’m not making excuses for President Trump. I fully support him. I like his demeanor. I like his attitude. I like how he punches hard. I don’t see anything “juvenile” about him at all.

Legal scholar Jonathan Turley said Sunday a Harvard/Harris poll showing a majority of Americans believe Trump’s indictment is politically motivated and election interference is “bad news” for Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Justice Department.......

Hunter took a plea deal, and rumpy is still slamming the DOJ. What a pillock.

So, that’s done. What will rump supporters be ******** about now? These charges wouid make Hunter the perfect Republican candidate. You praised rumpy for tax evasion, and guns are like porn for republicans.

Wait, Hunter paid his tax bill? Then he isn’t guilty of anything. So he’s being treated harsher than someone else would be.
