So a movie costing $250 millions is netting $87 millions after 10 days of release. An investment fail! That being said, $87 millions is not too shabby, and shows that there is a market for this type of movies, but it is a NICHE market, not a global mainstream market.
There have always been niche markets and movies that have thrived because they supply various needs not met by global mainstream markets. If the studio executives are going to cater to niche markets, they need to make cheaper movies, not bloated $250 million movies if they want to recoup their investments.
It is common sense, but obviously, common sense has long left the building in Hollyweird.
