Not give them drinking water.

Abbott is pro-life? Not at all. Neither is anyone who supports this. This includes children, as well. Think of the children, except they do not care. Don’t come at me with “they should have kept them at home”. They’re trying to get better lives for their children.

Texas traps pregnant migrants in razor wire, pushes kids back into Rio Grande

http://theweek.com/immigration/1025093/texas-traps-pregnant-migrants-in-razor-wire-pushes-kids-back-into-rio-grande

Rolls of razor wire Texas installed along the U.S. side of the Rio Grande have ensnared several migrants, including a pregnant woman "in obvious pain" while having a miscarriage and a father trying to free his child "stuck on a trap" of razor wire–covered barrels in the water, a Texas state trooper wrote in July 3 email to a superior, the Houston Chronicle reported Monday.

The Dallas Morning News also obtained the email and a corroborating July 4 note from a second Department of Public Safety trooper. Both were identified by name. In recent weeks, as part of Gov. Greg Abbott's (R) "Operation Lone Star" border initiative, Texas has rolled out about 88 miles of razor wire along the Rio Grande and also put buoys in the middle of the river to deter migrants from crossing over from Mexico. This has sparked conflicts with the U.S. Border Patrol, complaints from local businesses, and legal challenges from Mexico.

The trooper, stationed in Eagle Pass, said Operation Lone Star service members have been ordered to push children back into the Rio Grande and told not to give water to asylum seekers even as Texas sweltered in extreme heat.

He recounted seeing National Guard soldiers push a 4-year-old girl trying to cross the razor wire back into the river "due to the orders given to them," adding that the girl then passed out from exhaustion in temperatures "well over 100 degrees." The 4-year-old girl, 19-year-old pregnant woman, and others lacerated by the razor wire or injured trying to avoid it in the June 30 incidents were transferred to emergency medical services, the trooper wrote.

On June 25, he added, troopers came across a group of 120 hungry and exhausted people, including small children and nursing babies, resting along the river. The shift officer in command ordered the troopers to "push the people back into the water to go to Mexico," the trooper recounted, and when the troopers refused and asked for new guidance, they were told to drive off. Other troopers and federal Border Patrol agents then stepped in and provided care to the migrants.

"I truly believe in the mission of Operation Lone Star," the trooper wrote. "I believe we have stepped over a line into the inhumane." He specifically said migrants need to be given water, and "the wire and barrels in the river needs to be taken out as this is nothing but a in humane [sic] trap in high water and low visibility."

DPS spokesman Travis Considine told the Chronicle there is no policy against giving water to migrants and passed along emails from DPS Director Steven McCraw acknowledging seven additional cases in July of migrants needing "elevated medical attention" due to the razor wire. McCraw called for a safety audit and investigation of the trooper's reports. A spokesman for Abbott said "Texas is deploying every tool and strategy to deter and repel illegal crossings between ports of entry," criticizing President Biden's border policies.

A four-year old girl, a young woman having a miscarriage, a father trying to free his child from razor wire.

Where is the humanity? How far does Abbott have to go, or do you think this is okay?

The problem of refugees is a tragic one, unfortunately it is not going to be solved by the US having open border.

Unless you teasel are willing to house migrants at the home you share with your dad. In fact I think all those in favor of the US having open borders should open their home to migrants and feed them at their own expenses. If people like you are willing to do that, then maybe we can have open borders. But Im not holding my breath, I know for a fact the posturing doesn't translate in such personal intimate involvement.

How serendipitous! I came upon this article saying that in Massachussets, the state is now asking locals to house migrant families as officials scramble to expand shelters.

https://www.wbur.org/news/2023/07/15/host-homes-immigrant

Massachusetts officials are seeking residents willing to host newly arrived families in need of shelter. Hosts are asked to provide a room or apartment for a few days, until longer-term accommodations can be arranged...
...

Advocates briefed on the program said host families are not compensated financially, but they are provided with things like gift cards, groceries and baby formula to help support the family that’s being hosted.

See teasel, something for you to think about if you are tired of ranting on social media about the plight of migrants legal or illegal. I certainly hope all of those in favor of US open borders open their own home to those they so claim to care about.

I’m in Eagle Pass under train bridge. Asylum-seekers including at least 3 babies are on Texas side under concertina wire.

They have asked for water. One woman is throwing up. National guard members and DPS agents refuse to give them water or assist

@CBP
nowhere to be found.

I saw a child in a deeper part of the river screaming. Her family turned back to an island in the middle of the river.

DPS/Florida game warden boats were nearby but not in river position to help.

National guard will not and cannot help because they are removed by razor wire.

National guard members told the migrants to walk 3 miles down river to turn themselves in.

That is private property where people are often arrested and charged by the state of Texas with criminal trespassing, which can land them in prison for a year.

To their credit, Texas DPS & Florida Highway Patrol under the Camino Real Bridge readily gave me water to toss to these families.

But, I was just told by the DPS agent in charge that I couldn’t take any more. He said he would contact medics to look for people in distress

The DPS medics are now here and national guard members on the shipping containers are providing families with water

I’m very thankful for their acts of kindness in an otherwise heartbreaking situation

Babies trapped behind that wire, another child crying for help. It isn't on their parents who are trying to find a better life for their children. It's on the "people" who don't see them as human beings, and love to cause them pain, love to put up barriers that will kill them.

But babies don’t count when they are moments from birth. Right? And I doubt any of that is true.
