As usual, you missed the boat. You should stay off Twitter ( X). It is only making you more dumb. Shapiro was talking about our practice of not indicting sitting Presidents. I concur with him. Biden should be indicted immediately!

Special counsel's team says the ex-president's recommendation to delay his case 'would deny the public its right to a speedy trial'

Is this jerk Smith really an attorney?

Since when is a 'speedy trial' a part of the public's rights?

There are a hell of a lot of people on the public payroll who need to be unemployed....pronto!

A deprivation of due process! What’s one more Constitutional right violation?

Yeah, it's the defendant who has the right to a speedy trial. These people are either lousy lawyers or brain dead morons who never read the US Constitution.

Amendment VI
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial

I’m surprised they didn’t say the prosecution has a right to a speedy trial. But the “public” is just as clueless of a response. Unfortunately, there will be people out there echoing that line. Crackerjack law degrees are all over the place nowadays. I would only add that sometimes (as in high profile cases), the defendant often would want quite the opposite. A speedy trial would prevent the defendant from presenting a full defense.

Agreed.
Defendants don't always want a speedy trial.
I was only commenting on the moron who said the... 'public is entitled to a speedy trial'.

No, I knew what you meant. I was just expanding on my due process statement. This is looking like a bad movie, but the ending is going to be glorious. 😂

If this was such a great thing for him, why did he fight so hard to get the charges dismissed? You were talking about him winning from behind bars.
