I will preface this post with the fact that my two sisters wanted to see Barbie, so I went to see it again. I saw a lot of things I had missed the first time around. Any quotes are not exact.

First of all, there were only three scenes that could have been interpreted as “woke.” 1. A Barbie prosecutor told a jury in corporation case that women can be emotional AND intelligent, and nothing is wrong with that. Of course, nothing is wrong with that. That’s not woke. 2. There was a long scene where a costar said all the roles women were expected to have. The audience applauded that line. Woke? No. Truth. 3. A preteen in school made Barbie cry by calling her materialistic, a symbol of consumerism, and a “fascist.” But this was actually the movie making fun of people who do that. Ring any bells?

This movie was a pink version of The Matrix! Instead of a red pill and a blue pill, it was pink high heels and ugly leather sandals. The entire movie had parallels with the Matrix and was about breaking free from brainwashing and becoming self-aware. Was it a woke movie? Yes. But not the “woke” everyone thought it was.

This movie was about the New Age. Barbie said: “I’m feeling some kind of awareness, and that awareness is me.” She also said they she wanted to be the originator and not the idea. Barbie told Jen that he is not the beach house, Barbie’s boyfriend, etc. He had a realization and said: “Ken is me.” Then each of the Kens said: “Ken is me.” There is a spiritual concept that we are not real. We attribute ourselves to our thoughts, feelings, and mind. And without those, we would still exist. But there is an observer. The observer is our true self. This is a centuries-old concept, but the author of The Secret wrote entirely about it in her latest book, The Greatest Secret. Now, go ahead and recommend Barbie again, Teasel. 😂 I am not commenting on the religious connotations either way. I am just clarifying what the movie was about on a deeper level. There are some other references. Barbie meets her creator, symbolizing our creator, and the resulting dialogue is fathoms deep. I can’t reveal what was said without ruining the ending. It was quite profound for a kids’ movie. This movie was over most people’s heads. But hey, it was about Barbie, so it made a billion bucks. I won’t spoil the enlightened ending. I think it is hilariously ironic that teasel was touting this movie as woke when, in fact, it was a religious rendering that even supported some of the “conspiracy theories” that she abhors. 😂

I wasn't touting it as "woke". Republicans were! So articles were calling it "woke". Ben Shapiro set fire to Barbies, in protest. Some religious "leader" recently destroyed a Barbie house. Why?? It's so ******* pathetic. They all came out against it - including those who had seen the movie. So your calling my posts "hilarious" are really about them.

I haven't been able to see it yet. I want to, but other things have taken precedence, and I'm not going into a movie theatre, with covid surging again.

“Out” magazine said itself, that there were no gay or trans characters in the movie, and that there are no such stories in the film.

You don’t get to mock me, for going along with the dumb outrage bait from the alt-right. The way they described the movie, plus their crazy crap destroying Barbies, had people wanting to see the movie even more. I guess you can partially thank that outrage bait, for Barbie getting to a billion at the box office. Sort of like your posting a trump mugshot, and saying that would win him the White House in 2024. Only I don’t think people would be that stupid now.

No, you came in here bragging about one example of the “go woke, go broke” theme was false. That’s your real problem. You get your opinions from others. Learn to think for yourself. Barbie was about people like you: Brainwashed drones who do as they’re told. Covid is soaring again? It is probably the most harmless virus on the planet. The last surge variant had one symptom—pink eye! What will this one have, if anything? Wait! I thought you could wear a mask and be magically protected!
